The above is an image of a short response that the owner of a video had replied to me on one of his Youtube videos.
The identity/alias of the owner will not be publicized to prevent any form of harassment(s) from occuring.
I know what you're probably thinking; "Youtube comments? lol!" But that's not what I'm going to be rambling about, nor am I going to be rambling about Halo (well to a degree, I guess.) But what I am going to be rambling about is the perspective that that is often shared and/or preached (like in his video) about particular branches of communities in gaming.
Before I start though, I'd like to say that I hold no bias towards any and all communities. Why I say this is because the picture might portray me in a particular bias.
Anyways, the video was of the owner pretty much generalizing the competitive community, or from what is in the description "obnoxious members" of Halo. He goes on to bring up an occurrence that had happened where someone had entered his party, and the guy who had joined goes on to say that Halo 4 takes no skill and that he doesn't like playing it. Then the owner goes on about how the guy doesn't like Halo 4 is because he "he gets his ass kicked in it."
Here's where I knew that things were only going to get worse from there. Coming up with false assumptions to back up an infactual viewpoint he as, taking no consideration of anything.
He proceeds, saying that "and it's like that for every person who says that."
By now, I know that he's speaking out of his ass and that he's just going to go on preaching to the gods about the "obnoxious members" (As you can tell from the picture, I stated that I stopped watching the video due to his arrogance.)

Normally I wouldn't be bothered by a singular opinion, but the problem I have about it is the message and word he's trying to send out. Not only is it wrong, but it's negative, ridiculous, and it's outright disgusting.
I know some of you may share the same opinion, and that's fine with me. But although some of you might use this as an opportunity to start a small flame war I'd like to first ask that if it is your intention, just leave the Thread and hide it. Other than that I welcome your say in this.

It isn't something new that the competitive community is being mocked and flamed. But I assure you, it's for all the wrong reasons. Saying that you had a bad experience in a MM game isn't a reason to be upset with them, because. 1) It's just a few people, and 2) Not all of them are like this.
It may be more common in those types of players but looking at it from a perspective of any other competitive activity, they aren't anything new.
You can say that I'm some sort of Fruit Loop but when it comes to a games particular community, I'd love to see it/them flourish. Not drain. So you can see why I'd be upset about something like this, and I'm going to try to explain myself as I go.
It'd be pretty ignorant to say that Halo has a definitive community. You have a wide variety of ways to play Halo that there are actually a branch of them within it. Whether it be the competitive, Forging, Theater, or any other community, they all hold their place as well off and exceptional groups not only to spend time with and play, but also make new friends.
And you know what; I like it. It's what has kept me attached to Halo, and it's where I met most of my friends.
(I know that Halo isn't the only game that has these kinds of communities but I'm assuming that because we're on a website made by old Halo devs, that you'd be familiar with it.)
Then things start getting rough. Certain people (I'm not going to point fingers) start using their use of online interaction to (in a sense,) force their perspective of the other communities on others. By then we just end up in a sort of war of communities. It's nothing new, and we see it all the time with the Game vs. Game Threads. But it seems rather unusual to have the game fight itself.
Why I say that this needs to stop isn't because of mine or any other's perspectives and views of others, but because it doesn't help the game. It's going to push people away and he just end up with one side dominating the games global opinion on mechanics and features.

Thank you for your time. I'd love to hear your say in this and if there's anything unclear about what I said, I'll try my best to clear that up for you.

Good read, OP. But what an absolute sack of shit YouTuber. Eugh. I'm disappointed we couldn't give him a taste. Sounds like he could use it.
