The officer told me I was driving with my high beams on. My car is brand new so it's lights are still fairly bright, and the only option below that is SUPER dim, you could barely see 10 ft in front of you. And for my high beams, you actually have to pull on the lever, and the lever goes back to it's original position if you're not holding it all the time, thus turning them off.
Idk, the officer said to just show up and they'll dismiss it. But it still ticks me off that I got a ticket for THAT. Though I do understand the issues behind it. Though just to nit pick, he was writing the ticket while other people were driving by with their actual high beams on.
Though just to nit pick, he was writing the ticket while other people were driving by with their actual high beams on.
An officer pulls a man over for driving 5 mph over the speed limit. While he's writing the ticket another man zooms by doing 10 mph over the speed limit. The driver questions the cop "Why aren't you pulling him over?" The cop responds "Do you catch every fish in the sea?" It also sounds like you're unfamiliar with your car. You can set your high beams permanently on. Older model cars have this feature and I see no reason why they would remove it from newer models. Plus it would be hazardous to require you to drive one handed to keep high beams on while you needed them.
