So will 343 develop Halo 5 by themselves or will there be stuff outsourced like there already has been?
-
343 didn't have a full compliment of 300 employees during Halo 4's development cycle, they had to build as they went along. It was only after the game's release that they hit the 300 mark, so now they probably will craft the game more independently.

Edited by Jono: 8/15/2013 11:15:56 PMThey're gonna develop a more traditional Halo gameplay experience. After that, they're going to hire people that hate the Halo Franchise and how Halo is played to work on that traditional Halo gameplay. Then they are going to scrap it, add things that shouldn't be there that don't feel like Halo at all, and release the game.
-
It's weird to think Forge in Halo 4 is done by Certain Affinity, since most of the things they do are good.
-
lol halo 5 Let's hope it gets cancelled and neither of them make it.
-
You don't seem to understand how a gaming company or companies in general work whatsoever. 200 people aren't going to be able to do all of that so instead of trying to point at 343I for "not doing anything" how about you provide us with Devs that did every single part of the game all by themselves which i know you won't be able to do because it doesn't work like that. The Plot was written by them and that is what matters in addition to the MP set up. They wouldn't have the time to do everything else within the span of 2-4 years. "Outsourcing" is equal to contracting.
-
Considering MS will want to pump out each Halo game as fast as possible I doubt 343 are going to do everything themselves.
-
Outsourcing part of your game development is really stupid. If your that undedicated that you have to give off portions of your game to be made by others.. it shows. Look at Aliens: Colonial Marines.. Perfect example of why you should NOT outsource your game.
-
Certain Affinity is their problem
-
Yeah the fact that they outsourced most of the game was dissapointing.
-
Don't forget that Bungie gave them in a silver plate the game already made, all they had to do was "mod it".
-
doubt it. Nothing 343 says I will believe really.
-
Obviously they're not competent enough.
-
implying anyone would care enough about halo 5 to have an opinion.
-
I don't know, will Infinity Ward ever make a Call of Duty by themselves?
-
Spartan Assault was done by Vanguard Games or whatever it was called
Lulno. 343 made it with them, source or didnt happen because I can't find anything that leads to this point. I really think you're pulling stuff out of your ass.
-
No because it says 343 on it.
-
Why is this such a hard concept for people to grasp? All developers collaborate with other developers. Take DICE for example. Multiple companies within EA all help work on the Battlefield series. You -blam!-ing idiots act like this is something new.
-
CA did Halo 2 stuff. Just pointing that out.
-
Instead of lovingly making Forge like Bungie did with Reach, 343 just gave it to CA? Well, that disappoints me but it explains why it was sub-par...
-
So basically 343 did the game themselves and gave others the extra features. Seems fine by me.
-
As much as I dislike 343, a lot of developers outsource some of their work.
-
Most work to CA? Because let's just forget about the single player, Spartan Ops, and launch MP. But I hope they don't make it by themselves. In fact, I really wouldn't mind if they just gave the MP to CA, let them make a CE/2/3 clone, and focused on the campaign instead.

I expected more people to vote for the third option.
-
Ofcourse not
