Granted he will get a job elsewhere if he pleases, but why is this such a big deal?

This was already posted. He wasn't fired for his opinion and he wasn't fired for being "racist." He was fired because he brought politics into a performance that has nothing to do with politics. The state fair wants to make money, and what better way not to do that than alienate half of the audience? It was supposed to be a carefree performance, but he brought the heavy topic of politics into it. See why it was justified?
