The point was raised in HM Rob's thread, in a strange manner that didn't work so well.
So here's a direct question for the atheists of Secular Sevens; what would it take for you to become a Christian?

When I see real evidence that their is a Christian or whatever god(s).

Money. Just give me the millions that go into building churches. And I'll say I'm a Christian. I'll even read that stupid book.

Evidence.

Statement: That would never happen, I do not wish to become part of a religion made to control people and have authoritarian rule.

falsifiable evidence.

I guess it would take God himself to come down and take the time to explain why he wants me to be one.

Edited by Mahcks: 8/15/2013 4:23:36 AMThat's like asking what it would take convince me, a skrawny out of shape jerk, to play professional football. The answer is money.

Not exactly atheist but not exactly not. Heres my belief: Every religion just about runs on the same basic principles of don't be a dick. I try to be nice to people in as many ways as possible and I figure that coupled with the fact that I don't say there isnt some godly figure watching us is good enough for any religion to be accepted into the good side. Where as if religion isnt true and there isnt anything past death then I didnt waste any time herding around with a bunch of devout cattle.

I really don't think I could ever believe in the Christian God. Even if He presented Himself to me right now I think I would ultimately believe it nothing more than a Christian-esque spiritual experience, not the actual Christian God appearing before me.

God would have to give me super powers, of my choosing.

i follow my own religion, one that accepts all religions and all people. i don't believe in god but the ability to adapt and solve our own problems without begging someone else to do it. if you want to know what will make me become christian? nothing, I'm content with my own belief and don't think it needs to change, nor should you.

Legitimate proof that God is real, and to truly witness the Second Coming and comprehend it.
-
Irrefutable proof that there is a god or gods, and even then I wouldn't suddenly change myself into a Christian. I do not believe in Christianity.
"If only God would give me some clear sign! Like making a large deposit in my name at a Swiss bank." - Woody Allen
Or some other actual evidence. One of my main problems with creator religions is that science has shown us that the world really didn't need a creator, thus making those religions obsolete.

I'll be a Christian (again) when the churches are taxed, student debt is forgiven, higher education is nationalized, and prayer to the Christian deity is demonstrated to actually produce results.

Edited by U920628: 8/13/2013 5:39:11 PMI used to be an atheist, But then I found Him in my life. He is everything to me, and I know that I am special in his eyes. I even went on to become a minister of the church. If you are an atheist, Stop. Let His noodly appendage touch your life, And seek a home with the Pastafarians. R'amen, my brothers. R'amen.

or god to reveal himself to the whole world, and declare that Christianity is the correct religion.

Seeing God in person would be good for me.
