Well, yeah, but you forget that most video games are made by males for a male audience. Sure, the most recent Call of Duty has only 1 plot-important female NPC I can think of out of a cast of about 20 males, but then again, how many females do you see in a regular multiplayer match for that game? 1 for every 30 guys? Maybe 50? They aren't portrayed realistically simply because the people who would want them portrayed so aren't a large part of the audience, and because of that, video games made by women for women, where men are depicted as the article suggests, are rare simply because there isn't any demand for them. That having been said, I would totally buy Tomb Raider: Lawrence Croft Edition.
