Although I'm technically white, I come from a de facto minority, though still a little underprivileged, is still far better off than the blacks and latinos in the US.
I don't post here often, but with the Trayvon Martin case I noticed really unfortunate amounts of racism does exist in the flood. Whether these unnamed users will acknowledge it or not, many of them spout the subtle racism that is more deadly than open racism. The kind that can go unnoticed and be accepted. Those pro Zimmerman threads had me agreeing in my head with New Radical. NEW -blam!-ING RADICAL. That guy disagrees with almost every opinion I've ever had and makes me feel like a teaparty conservative (I'm center right leaning politically) because he's (she's?) so far gone left that every opinion they have is uncompromising and silly. But I agreed with them on this! What kind of community is this, where I find myself alone in agreeing with the most far gone extremist on the internet?
This post is just here to be a friendly PSA for to my buddies on B.net to remember to be more careful about prejudice, so we can move on to a better America.
