Should Destiny have a Hunter class?

Right now, it seems a little irrelevant. The lancer class basically makes it underpowered. The lancer is able to spot the snipers at a distant due to his magnifying visor. At at close range, it's Melee capabilities are much more proficient. Either Hunters need a buff or Lancers need at nerf.
