Religion brings people together. My best friend's family are catholics. My friend did the whole, become a man thing that they do. I made a good friend when I went to see it. We also had a bouncy castle after party. They often have nuns around and have cakes and biscuits. Last month they had some Colombians around. One of them was an ex-gangster, not sure what happened in between but he's now a Catholic rapper/artist. Met him because something happened and at the last minute Plan B had to cancel a meeting with him. His music was better/on par with lots of stuff in the charts. Not once did he mention religion we just joked and got hammered. He's changed his life (hopefully for the better) partly down to religion. In high school I was like you, or at least what you sound like to me currently. I used to hate on religion when I could. I know your probably just trying to separate science from religion. Since then I've been religious groups and people, most of them are normally people. some tried to force they beliefs upon others and I still stop them when they do. On a whole the seem to have less assholes in their ranks than atheists do.
I also don't understand why you can't understand that a theory is just a story with more makeup on it.
