So a month or so ago I made a thread discussing virtual reality, like the kind of VR that's in Sword Art Online. So let's have another chat about virtual reality, except we're going to be talking more realistic here.
Seeing this article from The Verge, it got me thinking, what if we were able to use Google Glass or something like that to turn our entire Earth into a playable video game?
Whenever you want to play, you would throw on Glass or something like it, load up the game, and then your objectives and whatnot come up. You would go walk around town finding other people "within your game" to battle against or trade or do whatever. Now here's where it can get fun, for battles you would never have to necessarily make contact with each other, but instead Glass (again, or something like it) would virtually do the moves, and only people who have the game loaded up can see the moves being cast and whatnot.
I think something like this is far more realistic (and we already almost have it) than something like the VR from Sword Art Online (and bound to be less expensive too!)
So how long do you think it would take to get something like this? What procedures would have to be taken? Also general VR discussion. I'd love to hear everybody's thoughts on this.
