To: the "secular sevens"
I'm calling you all out.
You know, for a group that claims to be 'secular,' you guys sure seem to talk about religion an awful lot.
In case you don't know:

Secular means not related to the church or religion, not "anti-religion" or "exclusively discuss things where religion is involved." You're all -blam!-ing hypocrites.
You know, you guys had a chance to just discuss things of a secular nature, like the sciences or politics without getting religion involved, yet every time I see a thread from your group, it is something to do with religion or faith.
quite frankly, I'm sick of it. And I know I'm not the only one. So often I see members complain about religious threads, and you know what? the vast majority of said threads come from your group. So ironic that the group claiming to have nothing to do with religion should be so enthralled by it, no?
And before someone comes up with some bullshit about me being some intolerant religious person, I am tolerant. I am tolerant of tolerance. What you bring here is not tolerance, it is intolerance and hate, which I will return in kind.
Now, if you want to discuss, bash, and hate on something, you go right on ahead, but keep it within your group. Do not make your threads public. The rest of the community doesn't need to be bothered with your hypocrisy.
Now; to the rest of the community.
I don't give a shit if you don't agree with anything I just said. But if you are as sick of religious threads as I am, then I ask you to hide, and report every thread that makes specific reference to religion, the church, atheism, or faith (or lack thereof), and don't dignify them with any other response. Kill the cancer that is killing this community.

Now, will this message work? Probably not, but I just had to get that off my chest, and if just one other person takes anything from this, then it was all worth it.

lol. The 'Secular' in Secular Sevens refers to the outlook on life of most of our members, not to the content of the group. And nobody is making you participate in any of our threads. If you don't like them, then don't go in them. But don't claim to be 'tolerant' while trying to suppress the ideas of a group of people you disagree with. Who's the real hypocrite?

I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

3 RepliesWho pissed in your cheerios? I actually recently made two threads about ethics (one about meta-ethics, the other about normative ethics). Scrolling down the thread list, I see one thread about quantum mechanics, another about feminism, and another about trans rights. Seems pretty secular to me. However, there's no reason why every single thread should not be about religion. The group is called ''Secular Sevens'' because it's mainly meant to be a discussion group for secular individuals (although everyone is welcome!). Secular individuals can, in fact, talk about religion if they wish. Nowhere do we claim to have nothing to do with religion. And since the group is geared largely towards secular individuals, many have unfavorable views about religion. Hence the dislike for religion. I agree that moderation standards are low when it comes to actual flaming, and that's a valid criticism to make. But this is largely due tot he bungie.next update.

Secular Sevens produce the most intellectual threads on Bungie. It's the only reason I even retain faith in these forums.
