I don't think you got my point there. I was pointing out that you were picking at semantics.
The reality is that belief is a kind of feeling, and pretty much everyone who believes in god(s) is going to describe it that way, precisely because it isn't based on any kind of knowledge at all. What you're trying to do is wildly swing at deists/theists/polytheists with the sword of the scientific method, and it's only connecting on those gnostic ones that claim to have knowledge that their god(s) exist. You're never going to hit any agnostics, simply because they're intelligent enough to recognize that the scientific method cannot apply to a question that is by definition not scientific, at least at the current time.
