This has been bothering me ever since the first time someone mentioned it in a thread about plot holes.
Why?
Is it because the people like challenges a la Goku? If so, doesn't that mean everyone in the universe is just a supreme d1ckhead?
And if nobody has thought of it, doesn't it mean everyone's just stupid?

OH MY -blam!-ING GOD I'VE ANSWERED THIS QUESTION ALREADY!!!! They tried to wish the earth protected when Vegetta attacked and the dragon said he didn't have the power to stop Vegetta he sure as hell couldn't stop Buu or Cell. SO STOP ASKING THIS -blam!-ING QUESTION!!!!
-
Hey, guys, why didn't we just prevent 9/11?
-
Shenron mentioned that his powers had limits; he can't eternally protect something.
-
#DRAGONYBALLS
-
Are you from The Lounge Movie Codec.com?
-
Yeah maybe someone one day DID wish for the earth to be eternally protected from evil. And the Z fighters just happened to turn up, become somewhat friends and save the world on numerous occasions. Wish granted, if you ask me.
-
The dragon would probably say something like "that is beyond my power"
-
then what would be the purpose of the show? no action no show.
-
If earth was protected, we wouldn't have 3 episodes for a spirit bomb. And what fun would that be?
-
Because Earth sucks.
-
DBZ is a really plot hole ridden show if u sit down and examine it
-
It wasn't in the dragons power to do such things if i remember right.
-
You question the logic of a tv show where an alien monkey man defends the Earth by magically changing his hair and eye color and breaking physics? A show where said monkey man is somehow able to be flung into a building, destroy it upon impact and emerge unscathed yet for some reason has an inexplicable fear of needles? A show where said character does all this while wearing orange pajamas? Godzilla indeed.
-
It's not that easy. Or is it.....? MIND=BLOWN
-
One thing I never understood is how would the dragon have enough power to make someone immortal? Surely if he was able to do something like that, he could defeat any villain if asked to do so.
-
Why didn't Mr. Popo kill every villain, at least up to Cell? Did he not face 2 Super Saiyans at once and neither of them could land a single hit on him?
-
The plot demands it!
-
I think it's something about power and greed, and how people would rather be immortal or whatnot. Or, it's in the heat of the moment, and they can only think to banish the one bad guy who's around.
-
Why don't they wish for unlimited wishes?
-
because plot hole thats why on another not because japan because anime because their stupid because its not deadpool
-
Because thats not how it works.
-
Not within Shenron's power. He can't grant wishes to defeat any being that is stronger than his creator, making anyone beyond Dende out of the question. And the protection would have been gone anyhow once Piccolo died and Dende wasn't around, leaving a window of vulnerability any time Earth had no Namekian guardian.
-
I don't think it's such a big plot hole.
-
When Vegetta attacks for the first time, krillin I believe wishes for exactly that. And the dragon says it's not powerful enough so......
-
Because the dragons balls power is only equal to the individual dragons, which can be and are weaker then certain enemies, you silly little girl. Also because yolo
