Microsoft finally got down to officially telling everyone the official price of an extra Xbox One controller, and it's $59.99. The Xbox One's headset—which isn't included in the box—is $24.99.
This is important because existing Xbox 360 controllers and compatible headsets won't work with the Xbox One (Microsoft reasons that Kinect, included with every Xbox One, can already handle voice chat for you.)
You'll get one controller in the Xbox One's box. If you want an extra recharging pack, that will run $24.99.
I dont see the bullshit, since the original 360 controller was 50 at launch with another 20$ for a charge and play kit. That was 70$ for a chargeable controller when the 360 released. Now the Xbone controller has a battery pack in it an integrated battery compartment, so overall it appears to be 10$ cheaper. As for the headset, its 5$ more than the original one, and looks to be much better quality.

Better than paying $60 for a round piece of plastic.
-
A headset does come with the Xbox One, silly.
-
It seems like everytime we rage at something, we get our way I like this trend
-
And also the headset comes with the console
-
Hurr durr the Xboner doesn't cum with a headset lawl.
-
Xbox One does have a headset included you -blam!-ing mong!!!!! /bait

BULLSHIT. yeah no wonder everyone is switching over to ps4, because Microsoft is insanely greedy and wants to get every ounce of money they can from us. i've been an Xbox fan up to this point, but not anymore!

Edited by Sapid: 9/27/2013 7:12:53 PMWait, so my wireless turtle beaches I have ATM won't work with the One right? Or will it? (I have the xp300) EDIT: Wow this thread has been risen from the grave a lot.
-
Who even goes into game chat anymore? Its sad
-
Microsoft needs to ease up on the money grabbing. When will we start seeing bluetooth ready gear, instead of gay wired headsets.
-
Xbox One does ship with a headset. And the controllers and headsets are already the same price they are right now.
-
Don't care. Only dumbasses support greedy companies such as M$ PS4> Shitbox One
-
no controller is worth 60$... I swear they are going to try to milk everyone dry of our money.
-
Don't forget the adapter to use the headset.......
-
Edited by MartinOfRedwall: 8/9/2013 5:03:20 AMHeadset will be included. Not a problem unless yours breaks. Edit: This came out after thread was made, not intending to shoot anyone down.
-
Lmao. I could get a Turtle Beach headset for cheaper than that.
-
Just thought I would bump this to laugh at everyone (including myself) for thinking Xbox One would not come with a headset. Not only has it been confirmed it does but an Microsoft employee was quoted as saying "We have no idea were the thought of no mic came from"

Edited by Random: 7/30/2013 3:07:57 AMWell, at least the price didn't go up on controllers. I've got 4 360 ones that are just nearing the ends of their lives (all 6+ years old with heavy use). Hopefully the One's are just as good (for people who are purchasing of course, -blam!- that noise.

Has Sony said anything about the prices for the PS4 controllers and headsets?
-
Can I still use my turtle beaches for the new controller?
-
Meh. I'll be getting a decent headset regardless; the Xbox standard are not exactly amazing. Plus I like integrated surround sound, can watch films etc without waking people up. Therefore, I'm happy I don't have to pay for something I wouldn't use:)
-
Anyone know if there will be wired controllers?
-
Good thing I don't plan on getting either of the new consoles.
-
Microsoft really should have just allowed gamers to use a regular Xbox 360 controller on their new console, and I believe the same goes for Sony and their PS3 controllers. The changes to the controller designs are marginal at best. Rumble feature in the triggers? A touch-pad? I'll admit that the PS3 controller has slippery triggers and the Xbox 360 controller has always carried an atrocious d-pad, but they're still pretty solid designs! Why not ship the new consoles with new controllers, but allow backward compatibility for current-generation controllers? I seriously doubt every game will make use of the PS4's touch-pad (and even fewer will utilize the bar of light on the front) or the Xbox One's trigger rumble feature outside of the way current rumble features are used. I think we're at the point of controller stagnation.

360 controllers are also 60 bucks so I'm not complaining.
