Other than the story dating back to April this year, there really isn't much else to it.
It was the owner's wish to have the dog euthanised and buried with her. After her death, her son said the dog was mourning and wandering aimlessly, so he then carried out his mother's wish and had it killed and put in her coffin.

I would never bring myself to do that. That's horrible.
-
It's a dog... Who cares...
-
I don't even know how I feel about this. On one hand, it's just a dog, plus it was just depressed and who knows how it really felt. Sometimes when old people's partner dies, they mourn so bad they die within the next year, which is what happened to my grandma. On the other hand that's -blam!-ing stupid.

Edited by Unknown: 2/28/2014 11:33:53 PMGoddamn, this is just an act of being a downright cynical and inhumane being. For all the individuals saying it's a dog, what if humans were killed with no logical justification? It's a goddamn living organism, just like us!

Edited by BerzerkCommando: 7/28/2013 11:34:23 AMI don't want to sound like I'm some PETA nut job, but this is bullshit. That dog shouldn't have been put down for something like this. I can allow it if the dog was dying, but not one that's healthy and still had many years left to its life. Her son should have taken care of it and if he didn't want to then find a home for it. And if you can with those dogs return it to Guide Dog Basic Training so it can be used for somebody else.

Our pet humans master died. Lets kill the human for shits and grins and bury it with its master. Oh its not funny now
-
I died. Better be a selfish ass hole and make sure my pet dies with me.

We had a similar(ish) case happen on my street recently, there was a little old lady named Rita who I had known for years. She'd been getting on in her years but she wasn't ill or anything like that, she also had this dog called Gus. Anyway, Rita went away for a few days and she couldn't take Gus with her. While she was away Gus died and when my step-father went to check on him (he was caring for him in Rita's absence) he found him curled up on her bed. When Rita's daughter broke the news to her she passed away a few days later. I'm not sure if it was for any medical reason since she was a perfectly healthy woman for her age, it could've been but I dunno. She loved Gus to bits so I'm assuming the shock or the fear of coming home to an empty house just got to her. Sucks really, she was a really nice woman. :(

One less dog in this world. I'm fine with this

Edited by CND AAA Beef: 2/6/2014 10:42:06 PMI've had dogs, so I can see how one would be depressed if its owner died. But I can't see the justification for this. The dog was five years old and physically healthy, it probably would have lived for another eight or nine years. It was a service dog , so someone else could have been helped by it, especially considering how well dogs can bond to another person.
-
Nope, shouldn't have happened, if I said that if I died I wanted another person to be killed and put in my coffin that would not be ok but with a dog it is? I get that they get put down at other times but needlessly I don't think is ok.

Healthy animals are euthanised all the time. This isn't anything special.
Jul 28 2013
Typical Flood to bump this crap for months.
-
Who could bump this many feels? :-(
-
Just don't look at me. A companion of a good dog cannot be described. Here is a photo of our family pet.
-
Sad yes, but the world will continue to turn.
-
Well that's sad :(
-
-
depends. i wouldn't care if the dog was genuinely really sad (they really DO get very attached to their owners) and it died a relatively painless death. if not...-blam!- the old woman...(unless she wasn't thinking straight, and really simply want the dog buried with her when it died (naturally)) as well as -blam!- her son.
