I'll jump on the bandwagon.
If you detect a way in which this forum could be a better place, take action. Hide a topic. Mute a user. The controls are in your hands.
When you complain about Ninja inaction, our heads explode. It's like watching a train roar toward a raven with a collapsed bridge. The conductor's hand is on the brakes, and he's screaming for someone to stop this thing!
We have put you in control of your own destiny. We have lead you to water. Drink!
You need to let go of the time when the Ninjas were judge, jury, executioners. Please act on your own impulses, and moderate this forum to your own liking.

I'm seeing a reoccurring argument being brought up that seems to insinuate one person muting another is not enough, because everyone else will still continue to see the offenders posts. Firstly, you might consider that many others may not be bothered by the posts of a user you have muted. More importantly, realize that this new feature is available to ALL users so they can create the experience they wish to have. If someone is truly bad enough, people will mute the offender and before long that individual may begin to question why no one is engaging him socially in either a positive or negative manner... Not long after it will likely dawn on the user that no one cares to see their contributions and it best be time to start acting like less of a tool. A LOT of you seem to also be forgetting about the amount of issues that were had with Moderators banning people. What is it? When the Moderators can ban people it's too much and unfair? But when they no longer are the primary rule enforcer, they're not doing enough? Some of you are never happy. This system gives you CONTROL. It is a fair system that eliminates complaints about people being "wrongly" removed from site interaction and replaces it with an ability for everyone to be the judge of an offending user.
