So a 14 year old murders someone. Let them go because "Science" says that the kid isn't rational? I guess it isn't his fault huh? Yeah, screw it. Don't let them take responsibility for any of their actions.
I get what you are saying, but because kids are less rational does not excuse their actions. They still have choice, even if they are more inclined to do something stupid, they don't have to. It is them as an individual who does what they do, because they chose to do so, and because of that they deserve complete responsibility for their idiotic actions.

Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 7/27/2013 4:02:49 AMThey are fourteen years old. You're saying that children should be treated as if they have the reasoning, comprehension, and life experience of a full-grown adult. That's absurd, it's insane, it's wrong, and you know it. Granted, if a 14-year-old is a murderer at such a young age, I can't imagine them turning their life around after that point in their life, no matter what happens to them after that. I'm not saying that a kid like that should be let off the hook--they absolutely should not, in the name of justice--but we shouldn't have some witch hunt against an entire demographic just because one kid turned out to be a certifiable psychopath.
