It comes down to the person. Some people can handle out, other people are weak-minded and can't into moderation.

True, but that's slightly biased. They aren't weak minded if they can't handle drugs. I'd rather not take the chance of my life possible going down the shitter.

Cannabis would not cause that, but alcohol surely could.

It can't directly cause it, that bit is up to you. But it does aid in the destruction of your life if you can't handle it. Good thing I don't drink that much either as well.
