Being somebody who was born in the early 90s, I had no real attachment to the original trilogy, and even now I don't think any of the movies are really particularly great, original or otherwise. It's silly (but pretty) scifi with a mostly crappy plot but some cool premises. That's all Star Wars ever was. The biggest difference between the two sets of movies is the quality of the dialogue, but that's more because the prequels had some godawful stuff, not because the original film's was particularly stellar (geddit).
