And being honest, I'm not excited or happy. Most people would be thinking at all the possibilities that are now available to them, but truthfully I'm kind of restless, trying to find ways to occupy my mind knowing that I'm presently that much closer to when my existence will cease to be relevant. I'm worried, I feel depressed, I just don't know what to do right now.
Tell me Flood, how do you deal with getting older?

If you're worried that your existence will cease to be relevant, then make it relevant. This is up to you to decide how to enact. Change the world in some way. You don't have to be a particle scientist or a neurosurgeon or a great poet, but do something that impacts the world in some fashion for the better. Heck, you could work at a fast-food restaurant and just be the best, kindest, cashier ever! Just make your life count to someone in some way. Every little piece of your life will mean something to someone if you try. Happy pills work too if you're really stuck in a rut with medical depression though; just throwing that out there as well.

you're going to have one hell of a mid-life crisis if 18 is bumming you out
-
Sometimes I wonder if I should be disappointed in myself. Then I think to myself, "Wait... I'm too lazy to care." or "I'm enjoying myself too much to care."

Play video games. You're never too old to play one. No seriously though, I don't know how I get settled into being a legal adult. I remember turning 18, how it was more stressful than it was exciting or happy. I eventually realized, and successfully argued to my parents, that I still have many years ahead of me, and I don't need to rush things. I'm still anxious about the future, but at least I have my parents off my back for the time being. Like another poster said, you shouldn't worry about what other people are doing in the same point in their own lives. Everyone has a different situation that isn't yours. Just worry about yourself. I'm not really sure what else to say.

You're of age, come hither.
-
Stop thinking in terms of "most people would be". Everybody's situation in life is different, and yours is no exception, (also, people don't really expect you to act any differently so who cares?)
-
Make investments for your future.
-
Don't think about it. All you did was level up
-
Pub. Go to the pub.
-
18 is a stupid age. It becomes illegal for you to sex certain people, and all you can do to comfort yourself is smoke.
-
Just turned 18 a few weeks ago and loving it .
-
Why are you worried?
-
Turning 18 isn't that big of a deal. No one is expecting you to do anything different.

By getting a car, getting drunk, driving, hitting a young girl and killing her, getting arrested, thrown in prison for a good 20 years, ruining your life. In prison you don't have to worry about getting older because you have no future
