Online or offline, makes no difference. I've received a WHOLE bunch of them online. Including quite a few on here. Can't link you to the thread (since it was pre-newness) about it pretty much told me that they were hoping they would find out where I lived so they could stab me in my sleep. I told them my address. That was 4 years ago, still haven't stabbed me, and I live at the same house. Oh well. Not my fault they don't know how to spell basic words and spell them like "a-gree" and "Matricks" and "alot"
Also, people take games too seriously, and my inbox on live is full of hatemail/death mail from adoring fans who don't appreciate me knocking them off of buildings or shooting at them when they are in a firefight. I'm only showing my love and appreciation at you claiming you are going to "carry" the team then go -10. (who cares if 9 of those deaths are fake betrayals where I shoot you 3 times in the back and the enemy shoots your head and kills you) No need to be all like "I hope you choke on a dick" or "I want to kill you and teabag your body." No need to go all violent.
Anyways, what's your favorite death threat you've ever received?

Edited by Broseph Stalin: 7/20/2013 5:00:00 PMOne of my female friends and I used to verbally abuse each other all the time. She once told me she was going to slit my throat in front of two of her best friends. EDIT: To be clear, she said it in front of her friends, she didn't say she would do it in front of them.

>Playing MW2 on a summer night about 2 years ago >Gets into a match on Afghan >Equips the TAR-21 with FMJ >Game is going well >Guy goes into one of the bunkers and sees him >Kills the guy through the wall as FMJ does its job >Guy does the same thing a few minutes later >Kill him through the wall again >Match ends >Receives a death threat message from that guy This is what he said: "I'm gonna find you and I'm gonna kill you and your whole family. How did you know I was behind that wall?! You can't shoot through the walls! I'm gonna kill you kid!" My reaction

On Bnet? Just a few people who take the interbutts too seriously to a point where it's laughably pathetic. On any other site? No. On video games? There's a reason why I get a ton of hatemail and indictments on Dark Souls. That and hearing shrilly 7 year old kids rage on CoD got old in high school. Although, it's funny to hear their mom come in and yell at them through the microphone. In real life? I don't think anyone would be able to come within 1400 feet of me in a second.

Not necessarily a legit death threat, but in Kindergarten, I scolded this boy for purposefully taking apart one of my hand-made keychains on my backback (yes, I was one of those girls). So what this douche did was say he was going to bail out all of his relatives from jail (apparently) and then tell them to come and kill me. Being in kindergarten only, I didn't understand how illogical that was and cried my eyes out the entire day, and at night I was paranoid thinking that the next day would be my last. Funniest part was when my parents brought this up to the principal, the asswipe yelled at me as if I was the aggressor and he decided not to punish the kid at all. Made me feel pretty shitty.

Told some kid at school he sucked at Halo 3 and he flipped shit and had his brother and friends go looking for me (I was in 7th grade and they were juniors). His friend threw my friend against the wall cause he looked like me and my friend told him what class I was in. He came in there and sat next to me and said they were gonna jump my ass at my house. He asked if I was scared and just no not really and he did the thing where he leans in your face to make you flinch and a i just sat there. Then the teacher asked him what he was doing and then he ran off like a bitch. Nothing ever happened.

On B.net/interwebz, plenty. IRL, nobody would want to kill me.
-
Quite a few, about equal online and IRL.
-
I've only gotten a few, and they were all from little kids, so I wasn't worried. Now ban/hack threats, that's a whole different story. I've gotten a bunch of those.

Edited by SonOfTheShire: 7/20/2013 3:27:11 PMNot to my recollection. And your first death threat is something you remember, right?
-
I've gotten several from numerous Black People and various minorities and Liberals.
-
A few times. But only because as I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
-
Several. I have ignored all of them because none of them will happen.
-
Yes in real life. A black guy threatened to kill me for accidentally blocking him from getting out of a McDonald's parking lot...
-
Unfortunately yes. I was playing COD and kicking ass when i got a message saying "am gona kil u faget" I haven't turned my Xbox on since.
-
Can you say you're going to kill me so I can then say yes?
-
Tons online, never to my face.
-
Once i slapped my friend and he said he would kill me. But he was obviously joking.
-
-
Yeah, I got one in real life that was scary enough and personal enough that I stayed up all night waiting. I had a lot of interesting thoughts that night.
-
Enough times for me to not really care about getting them. I've actually gotten a few phone calls in the past that were death threats. Don't remember what they were about, but i'd usually just hang up on them after I got bored of hearing it.
-
I'd say, "Come at me.. I'm equipped to handle wannabe crimminals"
-
Quite a few.
-
"OH, IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON YOU I WOULD BASH YOUR -blam!-ING HEAD INTO A WALL!!!" -Nude Panda
-
Serious ones, no. People angry over call of duty and other stupid things....... more than i can count. when i'm actually playing COD or a competitive game enough to be "good" then i get death threats from 10 year olds and boosters pretty regularly. and one kid i trolled hard on borderlands
