My neighborhood just had a brief power outage for about 2 hours. Normally this wouldn't be too bad, but it's been in the upper 90s all week. No power means things get very sweaty, very fast. That wouldn't be too bad either, but our house uses a well to get water rather than the city's water supply. No power means no running water, which means no showers or indoor toilets unless we buy water (or carry it from the creek near my house if it gets really bad).
So do you have any interesting power outage experiences? What's the longest you've been wiothout power?

Up here in big bad New England we've had some pretty bad outages during recent winters. It think the longest without power was about two weeks. And the most recent bad outage was Superstorm Sandy. We have a generator tho so it's ok.
