"What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." - Socrates.
Let's be honest, if you don't go the gym and hone your body into the best shape it can possibly be you're doing it wrong. I can't fathom anymore the mindsets of people who don't go the gym, of people who are content with being average and unremarkable. I've been going the gym for just over a year now and I can honestly say it's completely changed the way I view life.
brb strong as hell
brb in great shape
brb working out inspired me to keep a healthy diet
brb stand out from the crowd
brb respect from guys, girls wanting my body
brb much more confident
Used to stay inside all day playing games, writing fan fiction (the fact that at one point I was writing 3 Halo fan fictions on this site says it all really) and being depressed with my life. Almost as soon as I started working out the bouts of depression I used to have completely vanished, I realised there was more to life than gaming and internet and started going out. Now a year later I'd consider myself an extrovert.

Why don't you work out and why doesn't your body look as good as mine? If you do and it does, good for you.

Edited by challengerX: 7/19/2013 9:21:50 AMOn the contrary, those that go to the gym are missing out. Swimming, biking and running on mountainous terrain in cold and hot weather is much more healthy and builds serious physical as well as mental endurance. Besides, what is the use of large and bulky muscles? You can't fight properly, they make you heavier than you should be and aren't flexible enough to use them for anything other than picking up heavy things.

Edited by Banned Man 3000: 7/19/2013 9:14:36 AMYou gave yourself a boner? I feel ashamed for noticing that

I don't see anything about cardio... I shall stick to my Mountain biking and Rugby training for now, than you very much. When I get skinny...one day...then I shall make a start on weights.

I do, All the time in a town called Petalburg

Unfortunately my body type is what is described as ectomorph. Which, from what I understand from reading and my own experiences, makes it very hard for me to gain fat or muscle mass. I do go to the gym several times a week (and have been for several years now) but I mostly do anaerobic exercise with the cross trainer.

I don't think that someone has to achieve their physical perfection to be happy with their life, so I disagree with you on that. However, I understand the different viewpoint on life. I have always been a happy and optimistic person, but ever since I started my workout on June 1st of this year, I've been even happier. The thing is, I don't go to the gym. I do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, and practice different martial arts. I've been studying a lot of those arts and hopefully I can glean these skills to my schoolwork, I'm not great at studying academically. But that may change. For those who are working out: Good job and keep going. For those of you who used to work out and stopped: Get back on it! Why did you stop in the first place? For those of you who haven't started yet: DO IT!

I wouldn't say a man like Hawking is wasting his life.

Gym's my favorite part of my routine. It's at the end of the day, and I can just go home and drink a protein shake and relax. Getting my nutrition in-check and lifting regularly is the best decision I've made for myself. Nice progress.

Edited by DarkSunnyboy: 7/19/2013 7:40:34 AMwhy am I like the only one here that noticed this guy's bulge [redacted because too cray] Nice abs too I'm getting pretty close to that look.

Going to gym waists money do it at home. Lift TVs and pull ups on the tree outside.
-
What is your workout routine?
-
Your body disgusts me.

-
So what do I do if I, like the majority on this site, wake up each morning looking really really ridiculously good looking? Am I still waisting my life by not going to the gym? #teamgamerfit

Wow wow wow wow wow, you know what equals a wasted life? Cool man.

Working out is for fatties.

I know where you're coming from. In middle school, I used to do nothing but game...it really affected my social life, and made me feel worthless. When I was 13, I decided I was going to start working out... Here's me today. It's clearly not as defined as yourself, but I know I can only get better. And I don't care if I'm cocky, but I'm proud to look in a mirror and say "I worked for that, and no one can tell me different."
-
Track, cross-country, and thousands of pushups works good enough for me. Sleek, toned body.
-
I don't gym.
dumbass
Appreciate the sentiment but for the love of Odin lose the contemptuous attitude; it's unbecoming.
-
How does one gym?
-
Yeah, cause I care what some drunk has to say about gym.
