The thoughts for blueprints for components to arsenals have been racing through my mind a lot, lately. I've written a lot of ideas down.
One I'm currently dwelling upon is a portable handgun, where the slide and barrel retract into the gun, while also using caseless ammunition to lessen need for multiple mechanisms. I'm even starting to think about a new formula for said ammo...
I guess I'm not really looking for pointers, but I'd just like to speak my mind, I suppose. What do you think of a teen starting a career in inventing?

Tornado gun?

a career in inventing. Jesus christ buddy, figure something out before you throw words out there.

I am trying to grasp how that would look. How big would it be? You also have to understand the pressure that associate with discharge of ammunition. Any structural weak point, like a collapsing barrel will have to be beefed up in that regard. Ruger made a take down model of the 10/22 that you can take apart and store in a backpack. They had to really beef up that locking mechanism for it now to have issues with venting or even exploding from that breach in the chamber, and that is just a .22. Now with a high speed round similar to a 9mm +P you will have to really beef up that collapsing barrel just to withstand pressure. Have you made any drawings? I'd like to see your idea.

Gunsmithing is serious buisness. maybe start with reloading?
-
I invented a gun that shoots backwards instead of forwards.
-
Do you even physics and chemistry? If so, than neat. Do this shit man.
-
Neato!

I've worked on components for guns and done calculations for a special one. I'd be interested in seeing your sketches/prints for this gun of yours.
