Is that why the jedi were wiped out by Clones? And suffered losses to Battle Droids?

Edited by Spooter: 7/15/2013 4:59:18 AMHeavily outnumbered ≠ Ineffective in combat Honestly, the Clones were an attack they weren't ever going to be prepared for. They built bonds with them, and in doing so trusted them with their lives. So when the hammer fell, was there any way you could see them coming out of that? Surrounded on all sides by trusted allies now turned enemies? And same goes with the droids. Spartans were killed by common infantry all the time. It's a natural thing.

But there was much less spartans than jedi and... I can't really support either side as better because the circumstances are different. Though a solid metal bullet is not a pleasant thing for lightsabers. Even if it is blocked there is still a cloud of lead vapor in the air. Lead poisoning. Not the ideal death. Perhaps we should argue over better equipment?

Edited by Spooter: 7/15/2013 6:30:25 AMI imagine that the bullet wouldn't just burst into powder, seeing as what it's impacting is a blade consisting purely of self-contained plasma. The Lightsaber would probably turn the bullet into molten slag, if not disintegrating entirely due to the immense heat. I wouldn't even say equipment is the only factor that matters here, such as the abilities and reaction time of each respective party. Of course though, the amount of bullets the Spartan (what kind are we talking?) can send flying would indeed be an important factor.

Battle rifle and, oh say a 60 bullet Assault Rifle. And if the lightsaber only turns the bullet into slag, well, that's still rather unpleasant because it would still be moving towards them.

Dont know about that, maybe if they got close up with the saber but thats nothing a rocket can't fix :)
-
Jedi would feel the rocket coming and use the force to deflect it.
-
I'm sure a Jedi would like to feel the firing of the Halo array and deflect that...

A Jedi < A Forerunner

Nope.

It is debatable. What is not debatable is. Precursor>Jedi
-
Yeah, no doubt about it.
-
Either way we have Precursors that are like Gods.
