My response:
People try to make cases a racial thing. It's ridiculous. There were a lot a facts involved and they were all in favor of Zimmerman. The forensic investigator (who is touted to be the greatest of our time) said that all the forensics lined up with Zimmerman's story. Trayvon had grass stains on his knees and Zimmerman had grass stains on his back; doesn't take a forensic examiner to figure out what that means.
Also, the only eye witness said that the man in the hoodie (which turned out to be Trayvon) was on top of the other man performing an MMA style ground and pound. Also Zimmerman was severely physically outmatched. The professional trainer who was brought to the stand during the trial rated Zimmerman's fitness as a 1 out of 10. On the other hand, you have trayvon who is 17, in much better shape, and has a few inches in height on Zimmerman.
Zimmerman had lacerations on the back of his head and a broken nose. There is no ref on the street. It is sad that Trayvon died but George did what he had to do to protect himself, which he has the right to do. If you think this was racial you are mistaken. It's just a matter of fact. They got this one right.

I have 1 black friend, 4 Hispanic, and plenty of white friends. None of them go ape shit over anything to do with race, we are basically idiots with knowledge. So we don't give a truck

Regardless, I don't think civilians have the right to decide whether another lives or dies. Especially in situations where they're stressed and panicked. Replace civilian guns with stun guns—the good ones. George Lucas knows how to build them.

I think that anyone can agree that this case is just another monstrosity that the media has created. I'm sure there are dozens of incidents like this every year, but due to a little recognition this has spiraled into a mess that it shouldn't be. The prosecutor's case wasn't strong because the evidence to create a case simply did not exist. The evidence to show that Zimmerman wasn't able to take Trayvon in a fight and got beaten did exist. As a result, the trial itself was always in Zimmerman's favor. When I see people claiming the outcome was racist I think- no, I know they are only saying that because they need something to justify their viewpoint and there is nothing else that they can find to do that.

4 RepliesNope. A few of my black friends even liked my FB status celebrating Zimmerman's innocence. May want to add that Zimmerman is Hispanic, not white.

I have had to correctly state what OP basically said, along with a few other points, on multiple FB pages celebrating Trayvon as a hero and what not. Lots and lots of flak but worth it IMO. Just get my jimmies rustled so much when reading ignorance and have the great need to intervene.
