Edit: Hey guys and gals! Ive added a Part 2 to the mix made with your ideas! Check it out. It also has a poll! WOO! Tell yo friends. But if you are a newcomer to this thread, read this one first :D
So here is what I was thinking: given the proposed ten year story line, a problem that some may have missed struck me. Kids that have not even been born yet will possibly be playing this game at the end of its glory. Likewise, they will play with their devious little fingers that will far outreach the capability of mine, slaughtering tenfold the amount of enemies that my weathered hands could.
So what I propose is something that will give me satisfaction enough to deter me from that dreadful embarrassment. A seed.
But not just any seed, no. A seed affected with the boons of the Traveler itself (for it would make sense that some life around the Traveler was affected, not only humans). And upon joining the game, you plant your seed in your own abode atop the Tower. As the decade passes and you grow your character from a Last City refuge to a true Guardian of power, your tree grows as well. Ethereal in nature, it hosts part of the power of the Traveler, same as you. Only its attributes are solely cosmetic; shimmering with light, rays occasionally bursting from cracks in its light blue bark. Obviously, this would just be for show. So when that ten year old throws its hip lingo trash talk at me, I can take him (or her) to my tower and show them what it is like to be a true veteran on one of the greatest realities to have ever been built.
This is just my idea, please post any other progressive attributes that would give us a hand over the next generation! :)

Great idea. This will really show those kids who's boss. 8 year-old: Aw yeah sucka I just quopped you! [<--- new young person slang from the future meaning "defeated you handily"] Older Player ("OP" for short): Oh really? Let me show you something, young one. 8 year-old: Lorx! [<--- new young person slang from the future meaning "That is agreeable"] OP: *takes 8 year-old to see his Ethereal Tree* 8 year-old: *looks at tree* *pause* 8 year-old: So? OP: As you will notice, my tree is bigger than yours. 8 year-old: *looks at tree again* 8 year-old: So? OP: But don't you understand? This signifies that I've been playing the game longer than you. 8 year-old: *looks at tree again* *pause* 8 year-old: So? OP: Well you may have beaten me at the game, but I have a larger tree. *pause* 8 year-old: *shoots OP in the face* 8 year-old: OHHHHH QUOPPED AGAIN

I LOVE this idea but, I gotta say when you said you would take them to your tower and show them what a true veteran is like, it got kinda creepy. LOL xD

I feel like this idea, it is incredibly appealing to me. I love shrines or showings of "veteran" status. Instead of young stupid hipster punks talking shit about how they were "like the first one to play this game" and liked it before everyone else, you can just say sure... check out my shrine, day one badge... get f'd.

I love this idea! I too feel the youth of today is slowly but surly taking my thunder, and I'm still in my mid twenties! Heck my younger siblings show me up most of the time.
