This comes down to a few things.
The Story
Halo had such a great story. Will Destiny compare. Halo had many sequels. Will Destiny be a stand alone? If so, they better hope they have a powerful storyline
The Gameplay
I don't know about you, but I love the gameplay in Halo. You don't die super fast, and it just seems fluid. Judging by the video though, it seems the gameplay in Destiny will be just as good, if not better!
The Multiplayer
Will Destiny reach the level Halo did in multiplayer? I'm hoping it can find a place in competitive gaming. Halo dominates that region for sure.
So the question is....
Will this compare to halo?

We know basically nothing about the story so far, but the universe they've created definitely has a really cool backstory. I think Bungie will make it live up to Halo's story. Gameplay-wise, it looks great. I want it to play like Halo, but not play like Halo. I've always wanted some kind of Halo spinoff that played more like a modern shooter without the crappy casualization. Adding ironsights is a great idea because it seems mostly aesthetic, you can still shoot accurately from the hip and it doesn't seem to slow you down much. Sliding is cool too. Other than that, it looks like it plays like a Halo game. I am eager to see how the multiplayer unfolds though. I loved Halo because it was different than most modern games. It was about equal starts and skill, like strafing and aiming. I think Destiny will hold to that a little where it all boils down to your strafe and aiming. One thing I am unsure about is how loadouts will be handled. I'm not a big fan of loadouts in game, like being able to start the match with a shotgun or sniper or any other power weapon. Destiny is all about customization, so I'm just hoping Bungie can find a way to make good, balanced multiplayer.
