Edward Snowden is a criminal, by legal definition.
But what he did, he did for the American people, because he loves his country's people more than his government.
So is Snowden a criminal, or a hero of the people?
I don't know.

Edited by Princess Anomaly: 2/3/2015 1:38:22 AMSometimes you have to be a criminal to be a hero, especially when a corrupt government is involved.
-
Yes. Edward Snowden is a hero not only to the American people, but to the people of the world who are now more aware.
-
Neither. He is just a guy who did the right thing. I would consider it brave. But he is no hero.
-
If you want to make a point about privacy by releasing domestic information, fine. But I'm going to have a problem with you if you release information regarding our foreign intelligence programs.
-
"Because he's the hero America deserves, but not the one it needs right now..." Seriously though, OP pretty much summed it up.
-
Heroic criminal
-
Ok someone going to fill me In ? Another Assange Freedom Warrior?
-
-
criminal. Why? because heroes don't run and hide.
-
Edited by Butters: 9/11/2013 5:07:18 AMHero for not hiding things. Criminal for potentially ruining international relations and causing less safety for the people. He's probably even sharing all our defensive secrets to the Russian government
-
All I have to say
-
He is a bad hero for running to countries like russia and stuff but overall i would say that his leak of info was heroic.
-
ALL HAIL SNOWDEN
-
I think I get it now. When the Government does it, it's illegal and wrong; but when Big Business does it, it's tolerable.
-
How about neither? He was just doing the moral thing. Its not like he saved people's lives.
-
Hero.
-
Is it not possible to be both?
-
Haven't you heard? It's illegal to speak of the illegal things that politicians are doing.
-
Neither
-
Prepare for an NSA home invasion.
-
He should be given a medal of honor.
-
Hes the hero we deserve, but not the one we need.
-
Actually, legally he is not a criminal. His oath to defend the Constitution supersedes any oath he made to the government. If you witness the government committing crimes and it's within the interest of the public you have a duty to report it. However, I don't care much for this guy. He shouldn't be punished, but he didn't tell us anything we didn't know at least eight years ago.
-
I have no problem with what he did.
-
Hero.
