Badge age...

I've been around a bit longer than 3 years. :) Any ideas why this is wrong? I can only think of two things that might be impacting the incorrect age: 1) When I signed up, I couldn't use my original account name since there's no support for two-character names... or 2) My account was hacked around 3 years ago, and support had to change the email address associated with the account. I suspect the PUID (which shouldn't have changed) wasn't used to determine age, but that the email address was used? If you ping me privately, I'd be happy to provide the original email address that I originally signed into Bungie.Net all those years ago. I obviously can't sign in with that address now, because it's been moved. I suppose I could try to create a new Live account with the old email address, but don't want to try it out and mess things up before hearing from you. Great unveil at E3, guys! Can't wait to be playing this. :)

  • I feel like throwing this in here, but I had an account here that had my new email as my long in, and this account as an old email. When I update my WLID on this account to my new email, it prevented me from logging into the other account. Something along those lines could be the cause of confusion.

    • Account age (Bungie.Net account) is solely linked to the date that the Bungie.Net account was created. The method of login doesn't alter or affect that date in any way. Think of it this way. Every Bungie.Net account is a keychain. Each keychain is created the moment someone creates a Bungie.Net account using an external key (previously WLID's, but now include FB, PSN, G+ keys). Nothing alters or changes the date the keychain is created. But keys can be added, others removed and unattached keys can be moved between existing or used to create new keychains. The Keychain that you are using in this thread was created January 11, 2013. What you did with your previous keys and Bungie.Net keychains? Only you know that. But this particular keychain was created that date.

      • What Recon said. Sign in using the credentials you used to sign in with your old accounts. That's the only thing i can think of.

After some digging, I think the uid/memberID in the old forum system was: http://halo.bungie.net/Account/Profile.aspx?uid=2656665 http://halo.bungie.net/Account/Profile.aspx?memberID=2625985 Though I could have sworn I was around earlier than those links indicate... yup! With some digging, I've found the following trace record dating at least to 2005 (search for darkphibre on the page): http://halo.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=2939203&postRepeater1-p=4 That's my post. I don't know if that was done with Darkphibre or Darkphibre2 (the second 'name' is for the ME account). It looks like the user was deleted(??). It gets a bit fuzzy here, because I had both accounts registered but I tended to post from Darkphibre more than Darkphibre2... but it is proof I was around in 2005.
