This week's game is Halo 3: ODST on the Xbox 360. The games will take place on Saturday, July 6th at 12:00pm PDT (3:00pm EDT, 8:00pm UTC).
The lobby size for this event is 16 players, with 8 of the slots going to each of the two teams (Red or Blue). To sign up for this event please post your gamer-tag in this thread and the team you will be playing for.
All players, please make sure you are on XBL and ready to play 15 minutes prior to the game's start time (noon PDT), as it takes time to invite players. Selected players will begin receiving invites at 11:45am PDT. Please accept the invite as soon as you receive it. Subs will begin being invited five minutes prior to the game starting to ensure we can begin on time.
**Important Information:
As ODST is vastly different then other games, there will be certain changes to the progression of the event. Below is listed each of the teams and the four slots for each team. The first player listed on each team will be the team captain. Team captains will be responsible for inviting all of their team mates and reporting scores to the event host (Rollin). Please state in your sign-up whether or not you're comfortable with being a team captain.
The first games will begin at 12:00pm PDT, and will continue for 45 minutes, or until the game ends. At the end of the first game, each team captain is to report the following to the event host via XBL message: final game time, final score, and lives remaining. The second game will begin at 1:00pm PDT, after a 15 minute intermission to give players a quick break. After the second game the same information needs to be reported to the even host. Please report information as soon as your game ends! Do not wait an extended period of time, as this causes you to be suspect of cheating.
**Scoring Information:
Individual team scores will be compounded to form a global score for each team (Red/Blue). The team with the highest global score at the end of the games will win. However, there are also score modifiers that will be calculated. The fire team with the highest score after the two games will receive a small bonus for their global score, and a bonus for each remaining life will be added to every team's score that survived the 45 minutes. There will also be penalties for not surviving the full 45 minutes, and teams that survive the 45 minutes, but with not lives left, will also receive a small penalty. The intent of these modifiers is to encourage a more competitive, team oriented game. Lone-wolf play will ultimately result in lower scores and penalties. Love thy team!
**ODST Quick Tips:
Firefight is a game that requires significant portions of team work, however, bad internet connections can muck this up. Before playing ensure that your LAN is open. You can Google how to accomplish this and solve the issue relatively easily. Also, before beginning a game, bring all members into ODST's theater. The game will automatically highlight the person in the group with the best internet connection, and this person should be selected as the host.
Game One: 45min, Crater (Night), Heroic Difficulty
Game Two: 45min, Last Exit, Heroic Difficulty
The use of skulls is permitted to teams who think they can take the extra challenge. If your fire-team opts to use skulls, please have team captains report which skulls were used in the final report for each game.

- Oudsemap (Oudsemap)

Long winded threads aside, remember that this is a laid back competition to play games with fellow like minded individuals. Feel free to take these games seriously, but remember that having fun is priority! Have a good time, and we'll see you this Saturday!
The Bungie Summer League is a competitive model of the typical Community Carnage system. The premise is to take the classic feud of Red vs. Blue and create an environment where the two can duke it out in a fun and friendly environment. Teams are consistent throughout the summer and beyond, encouraging bonding amongst players.
