Alright. Just a question.
Why are Avatar and The Titanic the two highest grossing films of all time? By significant margins? What makes them so damn special?

1 ReplyFirst of all, Cameron dumped gargantuan amounts for both films and also advertised the living out of it, enough to draw attention to a grand majority of people. Also, he paid to craft the best technology to display on film and also took charge of nearly every production ( he was director, writer and producer of Avatar) and took advantage of promoting the film to be 3-D in nearly every theater, which are big bangs for his bucks.

Titanic is only a high grossing film because of young girls thinking its the greatest movie ever when its not.

And they are both James Cameron movies. I guess he knows how to make a blockbuster. Although I didn't think Avatar was very good, and I haven't seen Titanic since it came out like 15 years ago so I have no opinion on that one.

3 RepliesAvatar is a gorgeous movie that really demonstrated how cool 3D can be without resorting to cheap scenes of throwing stuff of the screen.

SPESHUL EFECS. Avatar was marketed heavily and also looked amazing in 3D. Perhaps that's a nuance, but as for Titanic I have no idea.
