There, I said it, I liked Spartan Ops. I thought that it was a great way to add more story to the game and to really get your spartan character into the narrative. Was it a good mode? Yes. Was it a good replacement for firefight? Heck no. That doesn't mean that it wasn't good though.

It has a huge potential to become much more better. With xbox one, they can create better missions that aren't just defend that, kill that, recycle environment etc I still loved SpOPs though. Especially the last five episodes. It's a funner coop experience then Reach firefight, that's for sure. SpOPs requires more teamwork, while in Reach , the firefight mode is not the survival mode it was supposed to be, more like a firing practise, everyone went their own way and started to erase entire squads of covies in seconds with jetpack+fuel rod cannon's. I would welcome firefight back in Halo 5, as long as it feels like a real survival mode where you are struggling to survive.

It had great potential, squandered.

Edited by A 3 Legged Goat: 6/29/2013 8:10:18 PMCGI was great, but the only good levels were Apex and Lockdown.
-
Good idea, bad implementation.
-
CRIMSON! WE CAN'T EVACUATE YOU FROM AN INCOMING COVENANT CRUSIER BUT WE CAN SEND 4 PELICANS TO YOUR POSITION JUST TO DROP OF MECHS. WHAT DO YOU MEAN "why can't we just get on them and leave"?!?!??!

Edited by Siffera: 6/29/2013 12:43:02 PMThey could have done better. But at least I know what it's like to press a button now.
-
I thought it was friggin awesome. I was sad when it ended.
-
When I read that I thought I was in a nightmare.
-
The CG in Spartan Op's was mind blowing I'll definately say I want more of that..
-
It's a great concept, but poorly executed.
-
I hated spartan ops more than anything else in Halo 4. I respect your opinion, but holy hell I detest spartan ops on so many levels.

Edited by Smarkdow: 6/29/2013 4:07:07 AMMeh, I lost interest in the mode after revisiting Sniper Alley (I think that's what it was called) like 50 times. And hearing, "CRIMSON! Go do everything while we jerk off in the Infinity!" 500 times got tiring as well.
-
Well, that escalated quickly.
-
It was pretty boring which is what I expected coming into the game. Still better than lolreach FireFight.
-
You liked the CUT SCENES not the mode itself.
-
I liked Spartan Ops,but mostly just the cut-scenes. Some levels were fun.
-
That doesn't change the fact that Palmer's still a bitch
-
I enjoyed most of Spartan Ops, despite the recycled levels and same missions. However, the only Episode that stood out was retaking the Infinity. I had a blast during that entire Episode. Other than that, it was pretty much all the same.
-
It was a pretty unique experience to me. No, it wasn't the best, and the levels were recycled, but there were some moments that said to me "This could be really good". I enjoyed the weekly bonus content, I enjoyed the story a lot. Overall, I feel the shortcomings of SpOps can be tied to the current generation hardware. With Cloud and Next Gen, I expect SpOps to be what it always should have been: Excellent.

It was mainly stuff that I would only play once =/
-
I thought it was sub par.
-
I liked the added story, but I feel that gameplay wise it could have been better (that final mission was amazing though).
-
The story was nice but the characters were awful, along with the level design.
-
It was a mixed bag for me. I'm currently playing it through from Episode 1-10 solo and I can honestly say that the first 4 Episodes were shit, Episode 5 was okay, but then after that Episodes 6-10 were fantastic. It was a good way to bring us extra story content, and by the end of it we are given the biggest game-changer since the discovery of the Halos. I can't wait to see how the Janus Key will factor into the story later on.

I liked it too. It wasn't as fleshed out as it could have been but I bet they've learned a lot from the first season and will be using the power of the Xbox One to make the next installment better. Would still like Firefight back though.
