Haven't seen you guys talking too much about zelda recently, and since I'm getting real tired of all the boring next-gen talk with new "exciting" IPs like Ryse and Titanfall, i figured I'd make a thread.
Just ask questions and share experiences or whatever, what's your favourite zelda etc
I'll start; do you ever get really scared when playing zelda? I know that I almost pissed my pants as a kid when the bublins appeared in Wind Waker, not even mentioning the traumatizing shit in OoT and Twilight Princess.
Also, anyone ever played Four Swords Adventure for the Gamecube? I've had it for like 10 years, but never got around to doing more than a level or two since I was too retarded for the puzzles as a kid. I think it's really cool with the four link and shit, so I'm currently on a playthrough halfway through.
One last thing, the only 3d zelda I haven't finished is Majoras Mask, which I don't even own, do you guys think it's worth it to buy it now for the n64 or for the wii on the eshop thing? Or is it coming for the 3ds?

I really don't get scared of Zelda games. However, I did piss my pants when I saw Dead Hand in Ocarina of Time. Yeah, I have Four Swords Adventures. I only played it by myself (foreveralone) but it was pretty cool, I guess. Whatever you do, you should play Majora's Mask. My favorite Zelda game, and possible my favorite game of all time. Oh, and BTW, Miyamoto still has Majora's Mask 3D in mind.

I got Oracle of Ages off the eShop a few weeks ago and I've had lots of fun with that. I still need to pick up Seasons, though. I'm also super excited for Link Between Worlds and Wind Waker HD.

A Link to the Past is my favorite. One of my favorite games of all time. Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess are both close seconds but ALTTP just felt the best (2D Zelda 4 lyfe!) Hoping to get a 3DS soon to get the Oracle games and Link's Awakening. I seen some Let's Play/Gameplay of them but definitely want to try them for myself. I also have beaten 4 swords adventures and while a very fun game didn't really stand out too much for me (God damn Tingle was always a killjoy). I have the original but it's way too hard for me and Skyward Sword which I dislike heavily. And finally I have Ocarina of Time which was also very fun. Oh yeah and Phantom Hourglass which was again, very fun (never understood the hate behind it, it's a solid game). I think that about covers it.

My favorite Zelda of all was Majora's Mask. That game succeeded in raising the creep-factor a couple notches. It LOOKED like a normal Zelda game, but then you looked up the moon and saw that you were going to die. And the music just emphasized it.

Edited by tntbabin: 6/28/2013 5:31:20 AMI don't get sacred playing Zelda anymore, but when I was a kid ^that f#cker in the picture above was what nightmares were made of. As for Majora's Mask, it's totally awesome and (imo) totally worth buying an old N64 just to play it. However, last I heard, Nintendo is talking about a 3Ds remake of the game, but if they do decide to do it that it'd be a while because they didn't want to release another remake so close to the release of the Windwaker remake for Wii-U. Just something to think about. EDIT: Oh, one last thing. If you do get Majora's Mask, do all the sidequests... ALL of them. Trust me. You'll want what you get for doing them all.

1. Yes, the Shadow Temple and Bottom of the Well are nightmare inducing. 2. Never played it. 3. Yes, get MM. It's great. There may be a 3DS remake but your best bet is the VC. By the way, did anyone else hate Skyward Sword? That game was just awful IMO. The gameplay was so repetitive with so many enemies making you do directional slices and constant revisiting of the same 3 areas. Plus, the soundtrack was pretty bad for the most part. Graphics were pretty terrible with horrible character models, ugly textures, 480p, washed out colors in all but 1 zone, 2D sprites, and that terrible blur effect. The story was pretty bad and forced through unskippable cutscenes, I hate how they made Zelda a generic anime girl. The game was really gimmicky with way to big of a focus on motion controls. Fi was terrible as well. The game was incredibly linear with almost nonexistent exploration and an empty overworld. Sorry about the rant, but I really hate that game.

Edited by U124926: 6/28/2013 2:55:06 AMMore than a decade later, after a Tingle spin-off, we've still got no Termina lore prequel. At this point though I think the fan theories and ideas would probably be better than anything Nintendo would put out. And really, maybe it's best left a mystery.

I used to have Majora's Mask but I never beat it, I got it for free from a friend who just gave me a bunch of games but at the time I was too retarded to figure out how to beat it. I haven't beaten Skyward Sword yet, but it's great. I never thought I would like the art style, but I just love how it looks like watercolors, it's just really beautiful. I don't get why people hated Twilight Princess so much, I really liked the game, it's one of my favorite Zelda games. I have always preferred the 3D zelda games, but I'm going to try that new Zelda for the 3DS that's coming out, it doesn't look too bad. Plus I've matured since the last time I've played a top down Zelda game, so my tastes have changed, I might like it.

Want to get my hands on Skyward Sword. Watched a let's play of it and the story was awesome. Looked like fun. Don't really want to play Majora's Mask. Setting back the time over and over again just seems so tedious. I might give it a shot if they make an HD version of it

I want to try to play through majora's mask and Skyward Sword this summer.
-
Majora's Mask is a MUST play. Emulator, Wii Shop Channel, Gamecube Disc, N64 cartridge, whatever. Play the game.

I haven't touched Skyward Sword. I have never finished MM, and TP. It isn't that they're bad games, but they aren't for me. I actually don't like the 3D Zelda games. I have completed OoT, and WW for some reason, but I never felt the same I do for 2D Zelda games. I am super excited for A Link Between Worlds. :D 2D adventure to go! Minish Cap was good, Spirit Tracks felt mediocre. So 3DS Zelda will be my first day 1 TLoZ game in years.

Edited by Vezilian: 6/28/2013 2:30:17 AM
"Exciting IP's like Ryse and Titanfall..."
lol OT: Not a big LoZ fan. Only have played Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. OoT was fairly enjoyable but I stopped playing at the third dungeon. You should just get Majoras Mask on Wii eshop. If it even was remade for 3ds or Wii U it wouldn't come out for a long time.
