I want to get into playing it, but it's all so complicated, anyone have any tips for new players?

943 hours in total. So I guess you could say I have an interest.

Play with friends to avoid asshats. I haven't played it myself as I prefer League of Legends buuuuuuut...

Play lots of bot matches and learn all of the heroes. Start off with easier heroes like Drow Ranger and Skeleton King. Once you can feel confident about beating bots on Medium then head into public matchmaking! Heroes you shouldn't start with: Chen Visage Meepo Invoker Morphling Those heroes are noted as some of the hardest ones to learn in the game. Save those ones for later! :)

My friend gave me a key. I don't play MOBAs, and I did kind of poor in the game so my team bashed me. I'd like to spend more time learning, but the environment is so hostile, and my friend who gave it to me doesn't even play it. <_< now to recover my ID maybe I can find nice people to teach me to play.

Yep. I really like it. Happy to play with Bnet people if anyone is interested. ID: burritosenior But yeah. Very fun game. Just stick to your role. If you're melee, go to a side lane. If you're a support, go to a side line. If you're a carry, figure out with your team which lane to go. If you're support, buy a courier before the game starts and update him to flying courier ASAP. If you're support, let the other person get all the last hits possible. If you're ranged, harass the enemies by pecking them with small-damage attacks whenever possible. And no matter who you are, click the arrow at the top left of the screen and check out player guides for your hero. Choose one of them and it'll recommend a build and items to buy, and the better ones will describe how to use your abilities efficiently. Very useful.

I'm still new to it myself. I played a lot of co-op bot matches to get used to the characters and item system. Learning how to farm properly and understanding what items can be upgraded to make different items is very important. I recommend watching a few "guide videos" because they let you know everything about a hero, item, or just understanding the basics of the game.

I'm good at it. It takes awhile, but you have to find the certain heroes you're good with. Trying playing around with different hero types. I'm the best at Carry heroes. Remember to farm creeps correctly. Only attack creeps when they are low on health. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
