The only reason I would buy a PS4 first, would be if the community for Destiny was better. Given I hate it when chipmunks are yelling in my ears on xBoxLive, it really should tell you something when I say that the multitude of these 'pro-PS4 shown as anti-xBoxOne' threads is one of the major reasons I'm turning away from the PS4 completely.
-
If the new Kinect has the ability to pick up my voice at normal conversation/mic level, then it shouldn't be a problem. But will the volume of a game interfere with that too?
-
Edited by IchEsseKinder: 6/26/2013 2:42:32 PMThe X1 comes with a Kinect but no headset. The PS4 comes with a headset but no Eye.
-
So $500 for the console, 60 for a game, 20 for a headset, and $5 a month for a subscription, all just to play a game online.
-
I really really hope Microsoft improved the kinect mic, otherwise everyone is going to sound like they're talking thru a can while wearing a fishbowl on their head
-
I'll probably just buy another TB anyways.
-
Does the ps4 come with a headset?
-
people like him try and start crap between the community because he sees it as fun. why would you even go out of your way to look up stuff for the xbox one if your not interested in getting it, oh thats right because you thrive on that kind of crap.
-
Why are you dumbasses complaining over a console you chose to buy?
-
First people complain that the Kinect is included, and now that a headset isn't, wtf? Let me try this: I don't want to pay for a headset that I won't use.
-
Why would they want to make us go out of our way to spend more money though? If adapters are going to be needed for previous headsets that wont be compatible with it, it kind of is a dick move that we will have to get one that accurately works compared to how the Kinect would pick up sound, unless they tuned how it picks up sounds in the room, but still dick move.
-
Except you don't necessarily need the headset to talk, you can use kinect if you want. So it's optional to buy. So you don't have to shell out more money, people trying to make the Xbox look bad again by saying you have to spenders money.
-
Cool so now it's 520 big whoop. Seriously I hate it when people try to pick faults like this. This is coming from a Sony fan. Seriously dude just quit. People who don't want to use the MS Mic won't buy it and will instead buy the adapter that probably costs the same and can use their TBs or Astros or whatever. I'm personally not going to be using Sony's headset maybe for my phone if anything. For my PS4 I'll be proudly sporting x12s because they are 5 times less than my x42s which finally broke after a year.

Edited by Verachi: 6/25/2013 8:47:53 PMThe team that put the Xbox one together are -blam!-ing idiots. I have Astro A40's but it won't be compatible with the Xbox one (not sure if legit).
-
I suppose you could just use the kinect as a mic.
-
Well -blam!- me sideways. Since my current Turtle Beaches weren't going to work with the Xbox One, I was planning on using the regular mic that came with the console. Now I have to spend an extra ~+$20 for a headset. Great.
-
Probably only get one control too.
-
I most likely won't buy an Xbox One, but if I did I would not even use the packaged headset, as I own a pair of Turtle Beaches. That doesn't excuse the fact that they won't package a mic with the console, but for me that isn't an issue. But I easily could not have owned this 3rd party mic, and if that were the case, I really would be upset with Microsoft for making that terrible decision.

Edited by Cobravert: 6/25/2013 8:35:22 PMI don't really care for the standard headset that was standard with the 360, but I find making the Kinect mic 'standard' a HUGE error on M$'s part. Simply because Kinect mics in multi player are ATROCIOUS and people using them can't be muted fast enough. I hope that the Polk headset is a quality piece with great sound, for right now it is my pre-release choice, ONLY because it has the controls at the controller, not in line. I have been a TB user for about 5 years, and really don't like my X41's. They crackle at the least little bit of interference, and just never sounded as solid as my X3's. Here is to hoping that the Kinect mic is good enough to diminish echo and background noise, but I sincerely doubt it.

Edited by BerzerkCommando: 6/25/2013 8:44:14 PM
Instead, Microsoft points to Kinect's "highly sensitive multi-array microphones designed to enable voice inputs and chat as a system-level capability, both in-game and with Skype and other experiences."
Oh boy more asshats that use a Kinect mic. I just love hearing every -blam!-ing sound over the mic that's in their house. Really the only reason why there are doing this and made it so you can't use old mics is just so they can Jew you out of your money.
-
Neither does ps4.

Edited by Chris_wcd45: 6/25/2013 8:40:36 PMAnd there's yet another reason why I'm not buying an Xbox.
-
Like anyone with an IQ above double digits would use MS's flimsy piece of junk. Kind of new this already when we found out current gen headsets don't work.
-
I have beaches so I'm not worried. And who cares? Your forgetting that M$ is a business, and a business has one goal; to make money! If you buy something for $500 what's another $30? Save money from now till then and it won't be an issue. Jobs are good for that.
-
People actually use MS's headsets?
-
Yeah I know.
