So all of my friends have gamerscores of 750- 1500, which is pretty sad. But every time I bring it up, they say it doesn't matter. I say that gamerscore is kind of like bait that game devs use to get you to play more and experience more of the game. My friends have low gamerscores because all they do is play CoD multiplayer. They don't know anything about any other game's story, not even CoD's storyline! Now if they were to go for gamerscore, they're not just getting a bigger number on they're profile, they're getting to know and experience a brand new world. I hope in the future they create games that integrate achievements (and trophies) into actual gameplay, and you get some form of reward for a certain amount of gamerscore you get from a game. Now, finally I ask what's your gamerscore and what do you even care?
Now if they were to go for gamerscore ... they're getting to know and experience a brand new world.
Not necessarily. You can go for achievements without paying attention to any non-gameplay apsects of the game.
-
I think they should make gamer score be able to get you deals on arcade games and such.
-
Achievements to me allow for a longer life-span for a game I might not find fun *coughBlops2cough*, and shows that I can at least do what the developers think I can do. Gamerscore also shows me how much of the game I have completed, and I love to brag to my friends every 10,000 G's I get.
-
I don't think Gamerscore means anything, but I try to complete the game as thoroughly as possible too. I agree with you (to some extent) that Gamerscore can help players enjoy the game thoroughly. My Gamerscore is 14765, the reason it is up to that number is because I love to get all the achievements to my favorite/more well liked games.
-
Nothing.
-
My gamerscore was roughly over 4000 last I checked, but I honestly do not care for gamerscore. I also don't really care about trophies either. Yes, they add little challenges here and there to a game, but it's not something that I feel needs to be boasted about.
-
I have a gamerscore of 18,466, but that's because I've been playing Xbox since I was like 5.
-
It would be cool if you were given Microsoft points for gamerscore. Like a 1:2 ratio or something.
-
How experienced a gamer is, OP.
-
Nothing.
-
If it's just the right amount, like, say, 20,000 or 10,000, I can tell that person likes to play a good pool of games. If it's a crazy amount, like 70,000, I say that person just plays a game for the achievements, and not for the story/multiplayer, or whatever else.
-
I could care less about it. I don't know what mine is and I don't go out of my way to look at other's. When I do come across someone with a high gamer score I think "that person has no life."
-
Absolutely nothing. I let my in game skills talk, not some number.
-
2% back on Xbox Live purchases monthly. Probably the only use for gamer score.

I'm going offline for tonight, keep on commenting your ideas, I'll see you guys tomorrow!

Edited by Zezima: 6/22/2013 2:01:45 AMI have 2000 around and all I play is Halo multiplayer.
-
Oh look, I've been around.
-
I think i have 20,000
-
60,751 and I don't really care, but will still go for achievements sometimes. Although, the fact that it doesn't end in a 0 or a 5 annoys me.
-
50,000 it matters if ur a gamer
-
Doesn't really mean much to me. I have just over 35K but what it tells me when I see other people's is the time they put into games and how their experience of games varies.
-
Around 49,000 I just see achievements as a way to increase my play time on games I find them fun to get
-
I think like 42,000. I see it as more of way to show your progress or devotion to certain games. The games I have high scores on are the ones you will see me playing more often while anything below 400 I usually sell or didn't like enough to even try anymore.
-
I think it shows the variety of games people play more than anything, I used to have friends with only a few thousand because all they played was Halo. My gamerscore is currently 32,298G. I'd be lying if I said I don't try to get achievements, but it isn't a massive deal to me.
-
Sometimes, well i play online alot, but i will probably try to get more achievements, i dont really care about it all the time, maybe a few times, but near never
-
Just got to 50,000 today. Just got all achievements in Lego Batman 2, and am finishing Far Cry 3.
