Thanks to a vocal minority, me and many others have had their Xbox One experience screwed over. I'm a PC gamer, and when Steam first launched people were heated and called BS over the amount of consumer restriction. Now, no one cares. I was planning on getting the Xbox One because I loved the wealth of features provided like multi-tasking with snap and the ability to family-share. Yusuf Medhi and Phil Spencer both confirmed that the primary owner of the game and one other person in their shared family library could play the same game. That would mean that instead of buying two copies of a game I would have only needed to buy one copy of a game for me and my friend, buddy, or sibling to play with me. I know many others who really enjoyed the family sharing feature, the ability to switch between games without having to search for a disc, and the ability to access my library of games anywhere. I understand the circumstances of some people who may not agree with 24 check in and stuff like that, but I think it should AT LEAST be an option for those who can opt-in to the 24 hour check-in and then receive the benefits of family sharing, quick switching between games, etc.
Now, as it stands, we have two consoles that are just enhanced versions of the past consoles. With one console being the "online" console and the other being the offline console at least the consumer had choice. I just hope Microsoft realizes the error of their ways and gives the consumer options at least.
Please consider signing this online petition if you would like for Xbox users to have the OPTION to use the Xbox One with how it was initially conceived and hopefully Microsoft will quickly notice the support.
