chemistry question
Aspirin is chemically designated as acetylsalicylic acid and has a chemical structure that is comprised of three chemical groups—an aromatic ring, an ester group, and a carboxylic acid group.
Can somebody tell me what class of compound Aspirin is? Should I just say "it's classified as an acid, even though it is made up of those groups" ? Help pl0x

-COOH takes priority - systematic number is something - benzoic acid. So I guess you could call it a benzoic acid, or a salicylate - it's derived from the naturally occurring salicylic acid.
