Threads regarding pedophilia removed?
Recently there were some threads regarding the topic of pedophilia. They had some very legitimate opinions and were in no way troll attempts. Recently I went to check if they were still there and found that they had been removed. Is there a reason for this? Were they breaking the rules? Were the mods just offended? Would the mods kindly enlighten me on the subject?
EDIT: The topics regarding pedophilia were not mine.

I do." and there were posts that were copypasta straight from NAMBLA. I know, that'll gross some out, offend others, and some will think that the discussion is "just talk" and believe that this is a perfectly fine place for it. Think about that for a second. All we need is 1 parent, one child-protection activist group, one lawyer, or one news organization looking for a headline in order to get readers/viewer and advertising bucks to see that on these forums.... then what happens? Think that any of them would shrug and say "well, Internet is gonna Internet"? Or do you think that they would DO something? Like call a lawyer, a cop, their local news? It'd make a real attention getting headline, especially since we all know how many news organizations already have mentally linked games and violence. Now they would have something even MORE attention getting. How would that headline look? I made a thread to discuss the psychology of pedophilia (I never discussed or condoned child molestation in the thread) and it was instantly removed and netted me a 30-day ban. I can see the positives and negatives of this. Pedophilia is not a choice. It's like being gay or having a fetish. People with pedophilia can indulge in it without harming or getting near children. Unfortunately, the actions of the few define the many.

It's much like a genius asking you to complete a mathematical equation that you aren't able to understand, and then forcing you to write what they tell you. You don't know any better, so you just have to listen to them, even if what you are writing down is wrong by mathematical standards.

Anyone that does, well they must obviously be a kiddy fiddler! Yes it is an abhorrent subject. But so is murder and r.a.p.e, yet is is socially permitted to discuss those topics. Why is pedophilia always swept under the carpet whenever anyone wants to bring it up as a [i]debate or discussion[/i]? RIP free speech.

It's not the mod's choice to remove threads like that anymore, it's the communities. And the community deemed them offensive. Take that as a sign that maybe we don't want that discussion here.
