...the poor man's Xbox One.
Read this very carefully.
It should come to no surprise that the PS4 is the poor man's Xbox One. Many people have made it apparently clear that they will buy a PS4 because it's cheaper overall. Among those reasons is that they want to buy used games (cheaper), and don't or can't afford good internet (being cheap). Like I thought, this concludes that the PS4 is hardware for people who are younger and don't have jobs. Sure enough, they'll receive their PS4 on Christmas as a gift. Obviously, it should come to no surprise that the Xbox One in this regard is a luxury product that offers a wider variety of entertainment and games, for those who are willing to spend more on a better product. Beyond the scope of a year, the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 once and surpass it with no problem. Ultimately, I find that Microsoft has a better plan of success for the future, and Sony will just copy it like they always do. You can't deny how much Sony copies just to get ahead. In the past, we've seen them take every idea from their competitors and try to 1up them. No one can deny that one of the key things Sony lacks is innovation. Granted, the only good thing they came up with was the original PS. Already, we see the Xbox overtaking the PS4 in sales. Please, just do yourself a favor and spend a few more for a better product. Soon enough everyone will just laugh at you for having a PS4 while we all enjoy superior gaming and entertainment. 4 generations of PS is enough of the same philosophy.
Thoughts?

EDIT: The test has concluded. As I suspected, awareness goes out the window in these arguments. It wasn't a troll thread because the answers were right in front of you all over the post. The correct answer was reply, however, was Popcorn.
Hint 1: The thread title did day Fanboy Test (to test how much of what was said bothered you or how much of what was said you agreed to bash the other side).
Hint 2: I DID say to read the post VERY carefully.
Hint 3: there is a period in the post linked to an image. That image states my position among fanboys. Truthfully, I'm just a gamer, I'm grabbing both consoles, nothing of either console bothers me.
Hint 4: If you take the first letter of each sentence, you'll see another message.
Those who passed this test:

Everyone else, failed.

Edited by Solemn: 6/19/2013 12:13:41 AMPersonally, I think that the cost doesn't change anything. Ok, the One is a 100$ more than the PS4, but it doesn't mean that it is a bad console. Remember when the PS3 was 600$ because of the Blu-Ray player? Well the One has this price because of the Kinect 2.0, which is included in the console to make your gaming experience better. The PS4 has not the Eye included, but if you included this thing PLUS the online price that will come, you will see that the PS4 has the same price or even higher than the Xbox! Also, if you can accept the online requirements of Microsoft, you will benefit of better servers and online protection than Sony. Sony got hacked for, what, a month? Sure, a 24 hour check is annoying, but it's not the wnd of world, does it? And, even if you are banned, you can't lose your games from total annihilation because of their installations. Tough I will not being a threat to you for buying a Playstation, I'm just pointing some facts. PS: Popcorn

This thread I'm getting XB1, but really late in 2014 after the inevitable price drop.

You can't be serious with this blatant stupidity. People don't want the Xbox One because its literally inferior to the PS4 in every way in addition to it being cheaper. You think people are poor because they're not dumb enough to waste money on a product that cant even do most of what the 360 can? That makes them smart spenders whereas the over zealous morons who can't do basic research will buy the Xbox One and I guarantee they'll regret it. It's not about money, it's about smart decisions. We have no restrictions on our console, and that has nothing to do with being cheap. We like convenience, value, ease of use, and freedom. Something the Xbox fans clearly can't comprehend. And Sony lacks innovation? No, they are the innovators. They basically designed the game controller as we know it with the introduction of the dualshock. They allowed developers to work with large portions of content with their blu ray platform. They were one of the first if not the first to introduce motion gaming with the PS toy, the brought quality games to a probable market with the PSP. They have made their mark on the industry, and they'll do it again. Not to mention the PS4 surpassed the Xbox One in preorder sales and have support over the Xbox by a massive margin. And popcorn.

Not bad, i chuckled a little. But if you're really trying to entertain people, you should be more aggressive and in denial like a real fanboy.

Or I enjoy my current entertainment setup (custom built entertainment PC that I use for movies/music/Netflix/etc.) and don't need the overbloated and redundant features of the Xbox One and prefer to not have to pay twice for my services. Also, as a consumer, I like supporting companies that are in line with my views when it comes to certain policies, and Sony currently fits that bill.

Edited by Ilogical Logic: 6/18/2013 1:34:22 AMSo basicly you're saying the xbox one is better because it costs more money. EDIT: just remembered this video
-
thats false, with the whole used games thing a publishers get money from used games is so that they can lower the price from 60 dollars to the true value of the game to more like 30 dollars. But i have one thing to add to your argument there is only one next gen console coming out... the xbox one, the PS4 is sony playing it safe while MS is taking the lead! great thread man!

While I also think that Microsoft will be more successful in the long run, people are currently preferring the PS4 for much more than the price. While the price is certainly a large factor, the internet connectivity, DRM, the lack of disk sharing, and a lot of confusion/misinformation are also contributing to the current PS4 lean. The PS4 is appealing to people that don't live in areas where internet is available (rural US, lots of the rest of the world), people that rely on used games, and people that have both of those things, but think the Microsoft policies would affect them in some regular or semi-regular occurrence (travel, relocation, unreliable connection to ISP). I genuinely think that Sony will try to implement some of these MS things down the line, and will have a difficult time imposing it onto a population that can't necessarily support those changes. Only time will tell, but six years down the line things could very well be different than they are at launch.

You make The Xbox One sound stupid.
-
Wow you missed a hell o a lot more than the money aspect slick.
-
You say that the ps4 hasn't innovated what has the xbox done that the ps4 hasn't?
-
Price has nothing to do with it.
-
It's funny because I don't give a -blam!-. Do I have great connection? Yes. Do I have plenty of money to afford the X1? Yes. Do I buy used games? No. Why am I buying the PS4? Because I'm an AmeriCAN and I CAN do what I want.

Nothing wrong with being a little broke. Someone has to be.
