To my understanding, the Wii U is similar in capabilities to the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Why is Destiny being released for those consoles, but not the Wii U?
-
Cause ain't nobody got time for dat console!
-
Because Wii is a joke.
-
It doesn't have the power or Internet connection needed in order to play destiny
-
Because wii u is -blam!-ing gay and sucks compared to the ps4 and Xbox one
-
Cus Wii U is ass IDK?
-
I see this post too God-blam much.....and I've only seen it 3 times!!!! So I ask the same question as I asked the others.....ARE YOU HIGH!!!!!!!! What is with people?!?! Why would want this game for the Wii U?!?!?! IT MAKES NOOOOOO SENSE!!!!!
-
Because Wii-U doesn't have the online capabilities.
-
The things hardware is worse than the 360 's
-
...!?
-
Because the Wii U sucks.
-
I think I have a couple of good reasons why Destiny wouldn't work on the Wii U. 1: The motion controls would make Destiny a bit janky, especially when driving vehicles and your ship. 2: The Wii U's low online capabilities would massively hinder Destiny's mmo-style servers. I could be wrong about 2, but if it's like the Wii, the servers wouldn't work at all. They'd be too small to work the way Bungie is intending.

Wii isn't even close in comparison to either next gen console. There are only 2GB of RAM on it for starters.
-
There's currently no market for shooters on Wii U at the moment. Look at ZombieU, a Ubisoft exec claimed it wasn't even close to being profitable. And system sales won't pick up for another while.
-
Because nobody likes nintendo anymore

Because traditionally, 3rd party games don't sell well on the Wii/Wii U system. Nintendo is a great company, and it makes great games and I love them. But their system is mainly tailored for their first party games. I am not saying the Wii U isn't capable of handling Destiny, because it is, its just not a good financial investment for Bungie to port the game to the Wii U. The costs outweigh the risks of it being successful on the console. (Opinion) To me, most people usually have a Wii/Wii U in conjunction with another system (Xbox or Playstation usually) if they are wanting to play the Nintendo first party games. Especially if they label themselves as a hardcore gamer. Its all about identity. Most players who identify themselves as a player who wants to play Destiny, also identify themselves as a hardcore gamer. Hardcore gamers identify themselves with a "hardcore system" which unfortunately the Wii/Wii U has not had that identity. The Wii/Wii U has an identity as a casual player system. This brings us back to the risk being too great for Bungie to port the game to Wii U. Hope this is informative enough for you and that you're not going to ignore me because I provided a thought-out response and that this doesn't label me as "stupid"

Wii is for dumb little 5 year olds and people 60+.
-
because the wii u is not manly enuff to handle all that Destiny....lol joking
-
I Lol'd hard when I saw this. Aha ha Wii..
-
Is this a serious question?
-
How about the fact that there already doing four system I'd prefer not to have to wait until 2015 for it.
-
Because the wii is for pussies.
-
There not putting it on PC because there already got there hands full with four that why there not doing it with wii U
-
Because wii sucks.
-
Wii just isn't the same type of system and Nintendo has always had separate games from the Playstation and Xbox consoles. Modern warfare 2 for the Wii had a different name and different gameplay. Just an example
-
The amount of slander and false information about Wii U in this thread is disheartening, but I won't even bother engaging in a futile debate. I'll just say that I hope Bungie and Activision have a Wii U release for Destiny up their sleeve, as it would be criminal to pass up the best gaming controllers ever made. I'd hate to be stuck playing this on a last gen system like my 360.

One word: Market. It doesn't matter if the Wii U can run the game, the fact of the matter is that Wii U is a different demographic when compared to the Xbox/Playstation. Whereas Destiny will sell large amounts on Xbox/Playstation, the same could not be said for the Wii. When that is coupled with the different layout of the Wii controller, it doesn't make sense for a business standpoint to support the Wii. I would think it more likely PC support comes around than Wii support.
