A friend of mine showed me this the other day, and it looks absolutely incredible.
This game broke records when they set out to make $2 million from Kickstarter and have so far raised nearly $10 million. It aims to be an immerse space sim, with realistically modeled space flight, scale (from a human size, to a space ship, to just damn enormous), immersion (Oculous Rift support, cockpit controls respond in real-time, your avatar performs all input that you use, etc.), and bad-ass space combat.
I'm interested to see how this turns out, and what it could mean for the future of games if gamers themselves can fund them almost entirely, eliminating the need for publishers (at least on PC). Also, it looks bad-ass and I want it in my life.
So, have you heard of Star Citizen? Are you looking forward to it? How do you think it will turn out?
