In a post work mess of getting things done, I created a PSN account with a different username to my XBL account and linked the two. Ever the neat freak, I changed the XBL username to match the new PSN account. Now, when trying to unlink the XBL account with (what I gather is) the old username from the PSN account so everything can be linked off one account, I'm hit with an authentication error every time -- that is, the PSN account is linked to an immovable XBL account.
The email address bound to the XBL account hasn't changed, I'm sure the password is right (I can log in to bnet using it and its new username), but everything I've tried to unlink it fails.
If anyone has a suggestion on how I can go about fixing this, that'd be great.
Cheers

So you have two accounts, PSN and Xbox live, correct? and you want to merge them into one? If that is the case, you can follow the steps below. He may have followed these steps below. 1.) Create a "Dummy" login method that you aren't currently using(Like Gmail) 2.) Link that to the account you wish to unlink. 3.) Unlink the account you wish to keep or just unlink, from the now "Dummy" account 4.) Walk away from the "Dummy" account and use the login that you unlinked how ever you want! Let me know if that makes sense or helps out! Or if that is even the issue you are dealing with.
