Pre-Ordering Destiny: Why are you doing it?

I have been contemplating the sentiments of the featured video above by TotalBiscuit. While he sounds like a stuck-up thanks to his British ethnicity, he made a few points about pre-ordering that reflected internal sentiments of my own regarding the purchase of games. By that, I mean that I am so critical about how much I don't know going into a game purchase that I will not buy a game as anticipated as Destiny, a game I fully expect to win awards next year by how it has been building up, before seeing the whole spectrum of reviews and/or release day gameplay footage. This is why I am not pre-ordering the game. I may be pragmatic and of little faith, but in the end, I will probably be in the same place the rest of you are once the game is out: Starside. And from how Bungie has spoken of discrepancies of experience in the Destiny universe and by what I understand of other online multiplayer games, any bonuses will probably be undermined by even better equipment and development in the long-run as far as benefit to the pre-ordering player is concerned. I'm perfectly fine on starting on an equal playing field with others, myself. Yet, while I don't even see a sizable benefit to pre-ordering on my part, I desire to understand what you, as a pre-orderer, believe in regards to these issues. Please discuss why you have pre-ordered Destiny. And as a final note, I am not taking a stance against Bungie on this matter because, as the video states, consumers and the industry's complicated history and relationship created these circumstances. Also, I love Bungie and have done so since Marathon. Please do not interpret my questioning or linking of the video in that way.

 • The reason I pre-order Bungie games is because they have never made a game I haven't enjoyed and I want to play the new game as soon as I can. If they ever do make a bad game I will be a lot more hesitant to pre-order game from them. I tend to not pre-order games in general, but if I do I either have great faith in the publisher or have played some kind of preview/demo of the game and enjoyed it a lot.
