Following a whole lot of mixed messaging and confusion Microsoft has just confirmed what we told you three weeks ago: the Xbox One will indeed need to be connected to the Internet once every 24 hours to play games.
I feel like Microsoft is playing a game of Dig Dug and losing. What are your thoughts on this?

And I thought steam shutting you out after a week offline was a bit much.
-
Microsoft can go Xbone themselves. You know what console never requires an Internet connection? PS4.
-
You'll all still buy it.

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 6/7/2013 12:18:06 AMI know this reeks of DRM, but I can't think of a reason why my console wouldn't be connected at all times anyway, so I really don't care.

If I end up moving to Alaska then this won't be a issue for me. I'll get 10x's the internet speed I get here. If, I don't I weigh my options out, but I will never buy a another sony product again. Hell my 360 lasted longer then my Ps2 and PsP combined!

My blog will sum up my words when the admin posts it.

There is no reason for this other than data mining and probably to help force xbox live.
-
It's a terrible move and now I will not buy it. I cannot believe they are going down such a stupid route. Why would I buy a game that requires internet connect (like future Elder Scrolls VI) on the xbox one when I could get it on pc and play offline forever. It makes no logical sense.

Edited by xImNotProx: 6/6/2013 11:22:42 PMMicrosoft is alienating gamers even more now.

I thought this was confirmed false by MS like last week....

Why?

If you are without Internet for over 24 hours--it's a sign of serious societal collapse. Start sharpening sticks, hoarding canned goods. ;)
-
I'm fine with it. The only reason I wouldn't have Internet is if the power is out, so I wouldn't be able to play anyway. I've never had just my Internet go out for more than a few hours.

I have no problem with this. I always have an internet connection, so who cares? Guess what, if your internet is unstable, you could just not buy the console and not whine about it.
