I've thought about this for a while. I watch Pewdiepie and Tobuscus and some others, just like a lot of people here. They play video games and commentate while doing them. Some channels talk about things relevant to gameplay while others just try to be funny, like the two I listed above. And I've thought to myself at times, "I could do that." I was wondering how many of you have thought about it as well?
I even went so far as to look up the materials needed, like quality screen recording and the editing software... They were expensive. Another barrier in my way would be the fact that for the PC at least, I have no computer capable of running even the most simple modern games well enough. My PC cannot run WoW, Minecraft, you name it. Hell, it can barely even run The Walking Dead, and that has to be a resolution half my screen size with all minimum settings. Yet still the thought is in my mind, if only for my own enjoyment rather than anybody else's.
And mind you, commentating isn't limited to games. You can commentate on TV commercials, television, books, movies, you name it! Games are just the common interest we all focus on here on Bnet!
And speaking of equipment for it as I did earlier, you don't want to just get bare-bones, you know? I mean, we've all seen some pretty shoddy machinimas made after kids have watched Red Vs. Blue or Dues Ex Machina or the likes. Nobody wants to be put in the 'just another kid' category, so when you do do something you need to make sure it's done well.
So again, how many of you have thought about it? Did you seriously consider it or was it only a dream, if anything? What made you stop?
Or hell, have any of you actually succeeded? Do we have any quality Bnet commentators to look towards? What do you focus on, funny or relevant? do you just do games or have you branched out? If you're only one one genre, then why?

I also commentate. I'm OK at it but I have lots of editing problems in some of my videos. Other than that not doing too badly.
