I associate the term commonly with something disappearing in a mysterious fashion. I apologize if I am coming off as a jerk. I'm a ginger, therefore I have no social compatibilities whatsoever. EDIT: To my limited knowledge regarding the subject, boobs do not mysteriously vanish.

No, not at all! Missing can be used in the "mysterious" context but also in the idea of something being knowingly removed and leaving a void. And also, sometimes people don't realize that breasts are removed on purpose for reasons stated earlier.
