What the hell is this.
Geoff Keighley has confirmed that Sony’s big PS4 reveal and press conference will not be broadcast on Spike, apparently owing to the conference’s late start time....If you take a look at Spike’s current program listings you’ll see several hours of E3 coverage from 9am to 2.30pm PDT, encapsulating the Microsoft and EA conferences. Then at 6pm, when the Sony conference will be gearing up, Spike will be showing Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
Yes, we’re to believe a rerun of 2004′s most ball-pun filled slapstick comedy is of more interest to people than the first public outing of the PlayStation 4.
This is some kind of bullshit. How likely is it Microsoft paid Spike off for this sham. Can't stand up to the competition? Don't worry, we'll just stop the general populace from watching your conference and first unveiling of the console.

Do people even watch these things on TV anymore? The Internet is so much better for it.

Microsoft and EA. Nice, I'll be turning in for sure then.
-
Sony, IGN, Youtube, Gametrailers, Microsoft Live Event Player.... pick your poison and go!
-
I don't recognize that source, so I'll take this with a grain of salt until somebody like Kotaku or IGN or Polygon reports this. I was probably just gonna watch the stream anyways.

I find Geoff's excuse "I would love to have had PlayStation on Spike, but the late start time (primetime on the east coast) makes it very difficult" to be bullshit. If Spike had wanted to air the Sony conference, they would have made room for it. I mean, he has the balls (pun intended, sure why the -blam!- not) to go out there and say "Well it's primetime so we can't broadcast Sony's conference, but we can put up a 9-year old immature comedy in primetime." Primetime is when you want to air content you want people to tune in to your station to watch because that's when the majority of the American populace is watching TV. The fact that Spike is putting Dodgeball (of all movies, Dodgeball?!?!?) on at primetime instead of more E3 that they clearly have the ability to continue covering is, in fact, bullshit. It's a piss-poor business decision. This coming from a Microsoft supporter too. Honestly has more to do with the fact Destiny will have its gameplay reveal during the Sony conference, but still, that's really uncool of Spike and especially Geoff. I've lost a lot of respect for Geoff today. Admittedly I was never going to watch E3 on Spike, I don't even have cable/satellite. But still, it's a matter of principle, integrity, and honesty. Something is rotten in the channel of Spike.
-
You can watch it on the internet like the rest of the world. If you are so offended, don't watch it. Heck, boycott the sale of Xboxone. Go burn down microsoft studios. I don't care.
-
Wow. That's nuts. Guess I just won't watch any of it on Spike then. >.<
-
Spike is inane and asinine anyways.

Edited by Tartan 118: 6/4/2013 11:11:49 AMUh-oh, whatever will happen without E3 on national television? Perhaps you'll have to do what the rest of the world does and stream it online. In fairness, TV has relatively tiny amounts of any live technical upsets, whereas streams can slow, stop, pause to buffer, any number of things. :/
-
Edited by LordFarquaad690: 6/4/2013 10:59:02 AMDon't you realize that Dodgeball is WAY more important than the Sony conference?
-
Because Spike TV is totally the only place that will be streaming E3...
-
I sincerely doubt Microsoft would do something THIS cartoonishly evil right after the whole "XBOX ONE TV" fiasco... ... at least, not until they reveal the death ray.
-
Why is this news on "wiiudaily.com?!" Ok, everyone may continue now...
-
Teh interwebz. Haz you heard of itz?
Yes, we’re to believe a rerun of 2004′s most ball-pun filled slapstick comedy is of more interest to people than the first public outing of the PlayStation 4.
Well, I do love dodging balls.... OT: Meh, I wasn't gonna watch Spike anyways. I'll watch E3 online somehow.
-
i guess ill have to wait for youtube.... is there any other way to watch it?
-
Crying. Crying everywhere.
-
RIP Sony
-
They've lost a lot of viewers with this, i doubt M$ paid them and if they did it would have to be a -blam!-ing large sum of money.
-
Spike is TV, XOne's big sells point is watching TV. Sony's is video games. So differing interests I guess.

Edited by Guardian7477: 6/4/2013 3:13:28 AMI hope this time I get the see the PS4.
-
Edited by BACE: 6/3/2013 11:31:17 PM-blam!- bnext I can't see the first line of my gawd damn post >:[ OT: well that sucks, luckily there are other ways of viewing E3
-
I think most people watch E3 press conferences online anyways. Add in Nintendo is having an online only Nintendo Direct instead of a traditional press conference. Regardless, I'm sure gamers are going to be excited to see what new technology and games will be coming to the gaming world.
-
Watch it on YouTube.

Cool your jets kid and get over it. Watch it someplace else.
