The Battle of Midway began today in what would be the turning point in the Pacific Campaign of World War 2. It would also be the first time a naval battle was fought using only planes to attack an enemy. At the battle of Midway the U.S. Navy inflicted irreparable damage on the Japanese fleet, of mainly carriers. This would set the Japanese on the defensive for basically the rest of the war. It is known as the single greatest/decisive naval victory ever achieved!

Special announcement!: I will be posting a relatively large post on June 6th to commemorate D-day, and I always say it but maybe I will go back to doing daily world war 2 facts again as well.
Thank you for reading and I will see you on the beaches of Normandy!

Thank god I have Battlefield 1942. WW2 was nuts, and I wish I could have been around to be apart of it.
